After a long brutal battle, Sukuna was finally defeated in chapter #268 of Jujutsu Kaisen Which also sees him finally forced out of Megumi’s body. Surprisingly, without a boss, Sukuna takes the form of an amorphous slime With only one bulging eye and mouth. The form doesn’t last very long and dissipates quickly, making Sukuna’s final moments particularly pathetic, especially given his pride until the very end.

Sukuna’s final form was quite shocking as many fans perhaps expected the King of Curses to fall in a blaze of glory befitting his title. However, Sukuna’s anticlimactic finish in Jujutsu Kaisen Was of course perfect, with his pathetic final form representing how completely helpless he was in the end without a boss, despite his selfish, selfish ideals.

Sukuna turns into a slime in Jujutsu Kaisen with Yuji looking down at him

The battle against Sukuna at Shinjuku went on for well over thirty chapters, over the course of it Jujutsu Kaisen Has established Sukuna as a completely insurmountable enemy. Many magicians tried and failed to defeat Sukuna throughout this long, drawn-out battle, but when Sukuna’s defeat finally came around in chapter #268, the Conclusion felt earned, and natural.

It’s frankly quite a relief that Sukuna wasn’t given a final, even more powerful transformation that would only prolong the battle even more as he was defeated by Yuji in the last chapter. Felt like the most natural conclusion to the battle. Given Sukuna’s well-founded pride and his disdain for Yuuji, it only made sense that he would reject his pity in the end even at his lowest when he was all but a slimy mess. Yuji’s victory over Sukuna also represented his ideal victory over Sukuna’s, even if the latter refused to accept this fact until the bitter end.
