Story, cast and everything we know

More Star Wars TV shows are on the horizon now more than ever. Disney has evolved Star Wars in a pioneering transmedia franchise of interconnected books, comics, video games and an impressive array of Disney+ TV shows. The Mandalorian was essentially the flagship Disney+ show, released as the streaming service's launch title in 2019.

TV shows take place at different points in the world. Star Wars timeline. The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka are spin-offs of The Mandalorianset about five years later Return of the Jedi. Obi Wan Kenobi and Andor both take place during the Dark Times of the Galactic Empire – just like the animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batcha spin-off of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Now, even more Star Wars TV shows are on the way, along with new seasons of existing episodes from Disney's TV library.

Andor Season 2

After a critically acclaimed first season Andor season 2 will complete the story of Diego Luna's Cassian Andor. Creator Tony Gilroy has already explained the structure of Andor Season 2, with each three of the 12 total episodes marking a year in Cassian's life leading up to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Andor Season 2 was originally scheduled for release in August 2024, but has since been pushed back to April 22, 2025.

Andor season 2 will see the return of characters from Rogue Oneincluding K-2SO and Director Orson Krennic, as he continues to bridge the gap between Andor Cassian's 1st season and debut film. It is also expected to show important events such as the Ghorman Massacre, the catalyst for Mon Mothma's fall from grace in the Imperial Senate. Given the success of Andor Season 1, there's no doubt that Season 2 will, at the very least, match the hype with its story.

Visions of Star Wars, season 3

The acclaimed “What If?” style show is coming back

Lucasfilm recently confirmed that Star Wars Visions the third season will be released in 2025. The popular anthology show usually releases on Star Wars Day, meaning many are expecting it to release on May 4th, although this is not yet confirmed. Visions is a tremendous show that allows major animation houses the chance to reinterpret Star Warsand Season 3 features some welcome returns.

Ahsoka Season 2

Lucasfilm confirmed that Ahsoka season two is underway. The end of Ahsoka The first season saw Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka Tano and Natasha Liu Bordizzo's Sabine Wren stranded on the distant planet Peridea, while Lars Mikkelsen's Grand Admiral Thrawn returned to the main Star Wars Galaxy. It is unknown whether the full cast will return, as there is still no information on whether the next season will be set entirely in the Peridean galaxy. Production will reportedly begin in the summer of 2025, scheduling this show for a possible 2026 release.

The Mandalorian season 4

The future of The Mandalorian is a mystery now

It is currently unclear whether The Mandalorian season 4 will happen, given the contradictory rumors about its fate after Lucasfilm announced that Din Djarin's story would continue in the next Star Wars film. Some reports claim it will still happen, while others say it has been canceled entirely, with the scripts adapted to The Mandalorian and Grogu. Hopefully it won't be long before Lucasfilm clarifies, helping viewers know what to expect from the future of Star Wars.
