What the new Minecraft trailer reveals about the film
The first trailer for A Minecraft movie It didn’t do well and the YouTube comments on the video are extremely negative. “Funny joke, Warner brothers, can you release the real teaser now,” reads a comment with 93,000 likes from @Ink_44. The latest trailer seemingly addresses the reaction to the first trailer, opening with a clapboard and a voice saying, “Minecraft Trailer, Take Two.” The trailer’s tone is certainly a change of direction, aiming to highlight the film’s emotional stakes in its footage of a young Steve.
In addition to attempting a small course correction, the latest trailer for A Minecraft movie brings many game references. Piglins serve as antagonists in the film, for example, as they do in some games. Momoa’s Garrett is also shown digging in a brief cutscene, and the dirt blocks disappear in true game fashion. The end of the trailer also features an Ender Pearl, a device from the games that allows the user to teleport to wherever they land.
