During Starfield: Shattered Space mission"Exhumation of the past“Players must make a difficult decision: whether to steal the last remaining Vortex Blocker or simply leave the Dam untouched. However, the choice is not easy as Kariya Ma'leen informs players that lifting the lockdown would endanger not only the people in the pods, but the entire seaweed farm next to it.. Naturally, you'll be wondering which choice produces the best results, or at least best suits their playstyle.
Like many of Destroyed space meaningful choices, players can put a lot of pressure on themselves to get it right, as choosing the wrong outcome can affect everything. Fortunately, this is not entirely true with "Exhumation of the past"The mission is like the choices you make have few consequences. However, there are consequences and you should absolutely know what you're getting into before you make a decision.
What happens if you remove the last blocker?
Andrey does not approve
If players decide to remove the Whirlwind lock during "Exhumation of the past"mission to Starfield: Shattered Spacethey will essentially get a bad ending to this mission. This will cause the people in the pods to die - their bodies will fall to the floor and can be looted, and the nearby seaweed farm will be virtually destroyed. as all electricity from the dam has been cut off. Additionally, Andrea does not approve of this choice, and this will negatively affect the player's relationship with her.
However, there is a silver lining to this choice as it means fans can avoid having to travel back through the Malin Dam entirely. Once the final Vortex lock is lifted, players can simply head to the nearest elevator and head up.which completely eliminates the hassle of choosing another option. Unfortunately, when you return to Ekris, you find out that they never needed another Vortex Interlock, so taking one to begin with was a bit pointless.
Players can save the Whirlwind secondary lock after completing "Exhumation of the past"mission to Starfield: Shattered Space. You can then take it and use it on the Citadel.
For those who want to remove permanent Vortex lock, the process is quite simple. All you have to do is open the door to the left of the lock, shoot the panel at the back of the hallway, then return to the lock and pull all three levers. This will open the Vortex lock below, which can then be used, causing the bodies in the pods to fall and the elevator to finally become accessible.
It is worth noting that choosing this option has absolutely no effect on Starfield: Shattered Space graduationand has only immediate consequences for the player and his environment. Additionally, the Seaweed Farm can still be visited and becomes an additional objective, although all the villagers will lament how their lives have been ruined. So, for those who want to punish themselves, going back is a dark experience, but a good way to see the consequences of that choice.
What happens if you leave the dam in Exhumation of the Past?
It's more difficult, but the best ending
If players choose to ignore the final Whirlwind block during "Exhumation of the past"mission to Starfield: Shattered Spaceand instead decide to leave the Dam entirely, then their mission will end well. By leaving the dam, you will save all the inhabitants of the neighboring village, as well as the capsules.and will not affect the player's relationships with his comrades. However, this is a significantly more difficult option, requiring a long return across the dam.
To leave Malin Dam, players will have to return the way they came, fighting an endless horde of vortex enemies.which makes this choice more difficult. Unlike people who survived the last Vortex lockdown, the elevator will not work, just like killing Varick in Starfield: Shattered Spacefans need to be ready to fight. They will have to keep fighting their way through the dam until they reach the end, and then they can go to Ekris for their reward.
Since simply leaving the dam has no negative consequences, it is certainly a good choice.although it's a little more complicated than just using Vortex Interlock. However, players will not be given any special reward for choosing the hard path, other than the knowledge that their conscience is in check. However, the seaweed farm will not be destroyed and players will be able to visit it again and find a group of happy villagers going about their business.
Why exiting the dam is the best choice in a destroyed space
This is the morally correct option
Exit from the dam at "Exhumation of the past"mission to Starfield: Shattered Space definitely the right choice, even if it's a little more tedious. This is because Regardless of which option players choose, they will receive the same rewards from Ekris: 350 experience, 20 MM missiles, 12,000 credits and a modified Varuun Penumbra with the Fighter.. The rewards don't change, except that you get to keep the second Vortex Lock if you steal it, which is a nice, if completely unnecessary, bonus.
You won't have to risk losing the approval of Andrea or any of the other companions if you decide to leave the dam without taking the lock.which is definitely an advantage. However, if players are playing as an evil character or a slightly selfish character, then it makes much more sense to steal the Lock and quickly escape via the elevator. Ultimately, the decision depends on which character the player is playing as, especially considering that the consequences of any choice are fairly minor.
There's definitely a lot to love though Star fieldthe lack of consequences in these missions is one of the Destroyed space main issues and"Exhumation of the past" is evidence of this. However, it is a good mission and the reward is not insignificant, especially after all the effort players will put in to get at least one Vortex Interlock. No matter what decision players make in "Exhumation of the past" Starfield: Shattered Space mission, she will complete it and move on to the next main mission.
