Stardew Valley Player Bullies His Friend, Only to Be Stranded Without Very Important Tools

When a Valley of the Stars player tried to play a prank on his friend, but it went horribly wrong and put them both in a ridiculous situation. Valley of the Stars is a healthy game that hosts many positive interactions and is not usually a place for any type of bullying. Apparently, one player didn't get the memo and tried to intimidate his friend by locking him in the house, only to discover that they themselves gambled in the process.

Valley of the Stars only recently added multiplayer mode and some players just can't resist the urge to have fun with their teammates. Editor Basiruma was playing a prank on a friend who was in the game with them when the prank backfired, leaving both players in an unhappy situation. The player who shared the image added more context, saying “Uh, I messed up trying to intimidate my friend, none of us have axes and we can't interact with the chests."

Player tries to trap his teammate inside

The image shared by Basiruma shows the two players' characters standing on the porch of their house. In front of the porch, and blocking the only exit from the house, are three fence posts and a geode statue. Outside the prison is the treasure chest containing, presumably, an ax that they could use to break down the fence.

Gambler's Luck, Redditor Munyamu/Reddit has an ingenious solution to the problem: "You still have wood in your inventory, so you can pick up the Standing Geode by hand, build two more fences to place in the corners, build a gate and place it in the middle, and leave."This solution uses a little-known feature of Valley of the Stars, what Is it possible to build gates directly into fencesrather than in holes where the fences will be. In fact, building a gate into an existing fence will cause that gate to take on the color of the fence it was built into.

Other players suggested waiting for the fence to come out as it will eventually deteriorate. Another idea is to allow characters to pass out outside, which should send them back to the cabin and allow them to retrieve their tools.

"You look in the mirror and see what you saw"

Commentators commented on the players' dilemma, comparing it to a puzzle. Reddit user strange feather highlights that "this sounds like that riddle about being in a room with a mirror and a table." Other Redditors fill in the rest of the riddle and its solution, which concerns a sequence of nonsensical events that help someone escape a room. One part of the riddle reads: "You look in the mirror and see what you saw./You take the saw and cut the table in half./Put the halves together, two halves make a whole (hole)./Blow the hole in the wall and you're out!."

Valley of the Stars is not immune to bugs and glitches, although they are often silly and funny or so ridiculous that players wish they were a feature and not a bug. This probably isn't the only time someone has been trapped inside a fence, but it could be the first time they've been on the wrong side of the fence, cutting off any means of escape. In this specific case, however, it appears that the problem was between the chair and the keyboard. Hopefully, the Valley of the Stars the player will think twice next time before trying any mischief with his friends.
