Stardew Valley from the villagers’ point of view is a hilarious take

one Stardew Valley Fan wrote a hilarious take on the protagonist of the game, from the point of view of the villagers. This cozy farming sim from solo developer ConcernedApe is rife with knowledge and interesting characters to meet and be free of. How people play the game varies though, so while some play as intended and visit the village often, others may choose to live a more secluded farming life. How this hermit-like existence might look for the fellow residents of the village is not something players have considered, until now.

Stardew Valley Put players in the shoes of a character who has recently arrived to replace his dearly departed grandfather at the farm. Reddit user Emj123 gives fans a look at what the farmer might look like as the villagers, in a Reddit post titled “POV: Farmer leaves the farm only one day of the year. A true story.” In it, Emj123 writes about The strange new farmer who moved to the valley at the beginning of the year.

They describe how the farmer did not leave his farm for a whole year, although the villagers are sure that they are alive at least because they keep sending “Shipment of sap, wood and rusty cogs to the local store.“The story goes on to tell For the first time, the farmer finally set out to meet the villages. The redditor writes that their “good friend” Elliot bought the farmer a rare tea set for the end of the year Secret Santa, not expecting them to show up.

The farmer finally comes out on Winter 25, during the Feast of the Winter Stars, wearing the same outfit they arrived in and a lid of trash on their head. They then proceed to give the local fisherman Willie a piece of coal, accept Elliott’s gift, and retire to their farm without a word. The story makes the player’s behavior seem extremely strange when considering how they might look from the perspective of the people around them.

Among the different playstyles is The “never leave the farm” challenge. dpadgamer YouTube shows an example of what this looks like, although the name of the challenge describes it in a nutshell. Players challenge themselves to make as much money or decorate as much of the farm as they can, without ever stepping foot outside the farm. It sounds like the farmer in Emj123’s story may have tried to complete the challenge, to hilarious results.

We never consider how the villagers of Stardu Valley see us

How do protagonists appear in other games?

The silly story shared by Emj123 is a testament to the creativity of the Stardew Valley Community. It makes me wonder too How the characters we play as in other games look like to bystanders. I imagine Link walking into my house, breaking all my vases, and then walking back without a word. I’ve always thought it was hilarious when game protagonists are faced with a massive threat, but I choose to finish collecting some trinkets first.

Stardew Valley is a game that is very open to be played in any way. Some players spend a long time finding joy in the few moments on their farm, while others play the title to perfection. Thanks to Emj123’s perspective on the farmer of Stardew ValleyPlayers can begin to look at the characters in the game from a different perspective.
