Stardew Valley Fan Reveals Essential 1.6 Gameplay Tip Everyone Should Know

Valley of the StarsUpdate 1.6 is finally here for everyone on console and mobile and a player wants to share a useful tip that was quietly added in the last major patch. When it comes to storage, farmers are known for collecting a mountain of items needed to upgrade their equipment and these are often stored in chests placed around their homes. In previous versions of Valley of the StarsIt was painfully tedious to move boxes around, as everything had to be removed first, but with update 1.6 that is now a thing of the past.

Posting on Reddit, user thevickit shared a helpful post explaining that moving a chest no longer requires farmers to remove the contents: Simply hit a filled box with a tool to move it one space in the direction it is pointing..

It seems like a small update, but given the time many players have spent optimizing their farm layout, this could save fans a lot of time. User whim took a step further by noting that placing a large chest on top of a regular chest now automatically transfers the contentswhich is extremely useful.

Stardew Valley 1.6 changes the game

Making farmers’ lives easier since 2024

ConcernedApe has done an incredible job of detailing everything players need to know about update 1.6, but some fun secrets weren’t included in the original patch notes. One of the most useful secret additions is the ability to increase a horse’s speed by giving the animal a carrot. On a similar note, the efficiency of Small Junimo Cabin

can be improved by feeding the creatures raisins, increasing the yield of the crops they harvest.

These are two major mechanical updates quietly excluded from the patch notes, but 1.6 also contains some interesting additions. The patch adds two more Secret Notes to the game with one of the main players to discover a compendium of his grandfather’s greatest discoveries. Perhaps the most beneficial secret inclusion is the Statue of Blessings
which provides farmers with a random buff every day; Neither option is particularly bad, but they can help shape the direction of one’s activities.

Nothing can escape them

I love seeing the Valley of the Stars community discovering and sharing random information they find in the game. Although some of the discoveries are generally known to most players, there is never anyone criticizing those who missed them. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: there are plenty of video game communities that could learn a thing or two from Valley of the Stars player base.
