Stardew Valley fan realizes he's been missing an important feature since launch 1.6

An important Valley of the Stars feature added in Update 1.6 is only now being discovered by some fans, months later. Update 1.6 was added to PC in March and ported to consoles and mobile devices most recently in November. The update added a wealth of new content, and players are still slowly discovering the small and large adjustments made to the indie darling.

The Reddit user with the humorous name YoMamasRearEnd realized they were missing a huge new game feature that was added in update 1.6: being able to relocate the house within the farm. The Redditor created a post titled “Which of you would tell me that you can CHANGE YOUR FARM?!“The update has apparently made it even easier to fully customize the farm and even the land surrounding the farm, and players like the original poster are only now discovering the extent of this customization freedom.

Stardew Valley players are perplexed to learn they can also move other buildings

Changing the farmhouse is just the beginning

Some longtime fans in the post's comments are wondering how they managed to miss the feature despite playing the game for years. However, the big change comes right after the latest update, which added a large amount of new content to the game. In addition to the patch notes, fans are slowly discovering that even more features have been added to the Valley of the Stars, including some Easter eggs that aren't even in the patch notes.

Reddit user Comfortable_Large_9097 added some more information that was a big surprise for some fans: “You can also move the greenhouse and shipping box. And if you're bothered by Robin's opening hours, you can move buildings via the wizard's tower.“As long as you are It was possible to move the greenhouse since 1.5, this is not mentioned in the game, so it was unknown to some fans.

The buildings and pet bowl can be moved in Robin's carpentry shop, but can also be relocated via the pedestal in the corner of the Sorcerer's Tower, where teleportation obelisks can be obtained. Players can even magically change the paint of housesonce Magic Ink is unlocked in the Witch's Hut after the “Goblin Trouble” quest is completed. THE

Our take: We love that there is a historical reason for moving buildings

Being able to move buildings opens up a lot of customization possibilities

Valley of the Stars It's already a wonderful game, and the cozy farm and Pelican Town have a lot of charm and personality. Be able to move the farm allows players to make each farm completely unique to them and their needs. Moving your own farm makes some sense, as much of what's on the farm is custom-made for the farmer and can, presumably, be upgraded and relocated relatively easily (even the old farmhouse).

Changing other characters' houses and changing their paintings would make a lot less sense. In any other game, this wouldn't matter, and players could simply change anything without worrying about whether it makes sense. In Valley of the StarsHowever, developer ConcernedApe is known for paying attention to every little detail, making even the most obscure things like the shelves of the hated JojaMart filled with knowledge. I love, then, that even being able to move and recolor NPC houses and shops has an in-game explanation in Valley of the Stars, even if that explanation is “it's magic!”
