Star Wars newest TV show, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, introduced a character who perfectly assumed the role of Leia Organa. Although Leia will always be one of the Star Wars best characters, Star Wars Movies and TV shows have had to adjust in recent years and move away from the original trilogy and its heroes. In part, this is because the Skywalker Saga ended in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
In the case of Leia Organa, unfortunately, this was also due to the death of Carrie Fisher before The Rise of Skywalker. Whereas Mark Hamill can still help Star Wars bring Luke Skywalker back, as in The Book of Boba FettFisher's death means the same isn't possible for Leia. It remains to be seen whether Star Wars will revamp Leia in time, but for now, Skeleton Crew cast of characters introduced a new hero who is a perfect replacement for Leia Organa.
Fern fits the “Princess Leia” archetype for AT
Fern's personality and family status are perfect for Leia Organa
Although Wim effectively served as the protagonist of episodes 1 and 2 of Skeleton Crew, Fern became the children's leader in many ways. This started in episode 1, first when Fern tricked the boys into working for her and then when she convinced SM-33 that she was the new captain. In addition to this controlling attitude – which is already very reminiscent of Princess Leia – Fern's witty sarcasm and quick-witted nature immediately call Leia Organa to mind.
Fern's witty sarcasm and quick-witted nature immediately call Leia Organa to mind.
However, it's not just Fern's personality that makes her similar to Leia. Fern's family situation also connects to Leia'sas it is clear that Fern's mother has a high rating on Attin. While this isn't exactly the same as being a princess, Fern's status on her home world and the responsibilities that come with it (in this case, apparently her mother's high expectations) don't seem all that different.
The Skeleton Crew heroes look like the next generation of Star Wars
Many Skeleton Crew characters fit into the original trilogy characters
Fern is the perfect replacement for Leia, but many characters in Skeleton Crew are connected to the original characters of the trilogy in terms of their personalities. Although he's not Force-sensitive – at least not yet – Wim is clearly destined to be similar to Luke Skywalker. Like Luke in A New HopeWim had ideas for great adventures and wanted to escape his 'boring' planet and do something bigger. For Luke, that meant being a pilot. Wim, on the other hand, is obsessed with the Jedi.
Wim was clearly meant to be similar to Luke Skywalker.
Even Jod Na Nawood, Jude Law's character, has some similarities to Han Solo. While Han may not have been a pirate, he was certainly a scoundrel (as Leia herself pointed out) and even now, Jod has a similar arrogance to Han Solo. Of course, Jod Na Nawood, also known as Crimson Jack, is still a big mystery in Skeleton CrewSo it will be interesting to see how this comparison develops over time.
Star Wars Cast the Skeleton Crew Heroes Perfectly
This group of kids gives the franchise hope for the future
Skeleton Crew has already proven that the show's creators put a lot of intentional thought into who would play these unique characters. Star Wars has faced considerable criticism in recent years for a number of reasons, but Skeleton Crew was very well received in the first three episodes. This is largely due to the characters, their brilliant actors and Skeleton Crew writing.
There have been children for a long time Star Warsand many of them were very well cast, like young Leia in Obi Wan Kenobi. What Skeleton Crew It perfectly captures, however, the childlike nature of all four children. This started in episode 1 of Skeleton Crewwith Neel and Wim pretending they're fighting with lightsabers, just like real-life kids do all the time. In episode 3, the realistic characterization of these children was reinforced once again when Fern declared that she wasn't even tired, and the following scene showed her sleeping soundly.
There's something incredibly captivating about seeing these kids actually act like kids in Star Wars (which hasn't always been the case in other shows and films), and the young actors give wonderful performances. It will be a delight to watch the next five episodes and see where these kids go in the series. Furthermore, because they are so young, it is possible Skeleton Crew It won't be the last appearance of these main characters. Carrie Fisher's loss will always be deeply felt Star Warsbut in your absence, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew introduced a wonderful replacement for Leia Organa.
