Star Wars Just Showed What We All Would REALLY Do With a Lightsaber

Notice! This post contains SPOILERS for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 5.Star Wars: Skeleton Crew I just gave Star Wars to audiences the most realistic representation of what it would be like for a non-Jedi to wield a lightsaber for the first time ever. Star Wars movies and TV shows. With only five of the total eight episodes released so far Skeleton Crew Already feeling like the Star Wars project that comes closest to 'real life'. This started with the Skeleton Crew characters' home world, At Attin, one of several planets in Skeleton Crewwhich had a remarkably similar appearance to Earth.

Skeleton Crew four main child characters – Wim, Fern, Neel and KB – also felt closer to the real world than most Star Wars characters tend to do so, Wim and Fern in particular. Interestingly, Wim was almost immediately obsessed with the Jedi, which also brought a fake lightsaber battle between two kids (Wim and Neel) to the show. Star Wars screen for the first time. In Skeleton Crew episode 5, however, Wim got a taste of the real thing, and it wasn't exactly what he expected.

Wim has absolutely no idea what he's doing with a lightsaber

Despite being obsessed with the Jedi, Wim wasn't ready for reality

Near the end of Skeleton Crew episode 5, Jod Na Nawood shockingly held a knife to Fern's throat, insisting that she relent and allow him to become captain. In an impressive moment of bravery, Wim tried to defend her, wielding the hilt of a lightsaber he had found among Captain Tak Rennod's treasures. When Wim lit it, however, he did not assume the stance of a valiant Jedi.

Instead, the lightsaber was facing the wrong direction, pointing at the ground. Terrified, Wim deactivated it and threw it aside. Despite his clear fascination and even obsession with the Jedi, the reality of a lightsaber was clearly not what Wim had in mind. While this could be written off as the actions of a scared child, this moment was actually much more – it's a much more realistic depiction of someone's first experience with a lightsaber.

We all imagine we are the Jedi hero… but we are not

Everyone wants to be Luke, but most of us are probably a Wim

What makes this moment so profound in Star Wars It's the fact that it's often the opposite. Even in Star Wars In the sequel trilogy, Rey and Finn, two people who had never touched a lightsaber before, were able to wield it and even fight with it quickly. Yet, Wim's first use of a lightsaber is arguably much more accurate, especially when it comes to the average non-Jedi..

Most viewers of Star Wars It is clear that they want to see themselves in the main heroes of the franchise, like Luke Skywalker, and there are certainly a number of characteristics that heroes like Luke, Leia, Obi-Wan Kenobi and other iconic icons Star Wars characters have to be identifiable. When it comes to skills with a lightsaber, however, it's certainly not as easy as it seems. After all, behind-the-scenes clips from various Star Wars shows and movies have shown how much intense training goes into lightsaber sequences.

This moment is also very reminiscent of the image of Mark Hamill on the set of A New Hopelooking directly at the hilt of a lightsaber. Realistically, if the average person picked up a lightsaber, it's easy to imagine that they wouldn't know what to do with it or would be completely scared when it was lit. In that sense, this moment with Wim is more of a real-life connection in Skeleton Creweven if it is a bit humiliating for Wim and the viewers.

Wim was still brave enough to face Jod

The Skeleton Crew Kids proved to be incredibly brave

Even with this lightsaber accident, Wim, however, was impressively brave enough to face Jod, even though he (apparently) has the Force and had a knife to his friend's throat.. As Fern herself said, Jod is also an “adult,” also creating an immediate power imbalance. This was a big moment for Wim, but it's also indicative of the personalities of all four kids. Skeleton Crew.

In Skeleton Crew episode 4, it was Neel who demonstrated this bravery the most. When SM-33 turned on the children, Neel drew the android's attention to himself, saving his friends but putting himself in danger to do so. KB and Fern also displayed their own moments of courage. After all, Wim only had to defend Fern because she refused to give in to Jod, even when he threatened to hurt her.

Only three episodes left Skeleton Crewand it will be interesting to see how these characters, especially the children, develop as the show comes to an end. In the meantime, it's clear that this story will continue to mix the galaxy far, far away with real-world elements. Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is truly unique among Star Wars shows, and this brilliant moment with Wim is perfect proof of that.
