Notice! This article contains SPOILERS for episode 4 of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.It seems that Star Wars is officially launching its next space dad in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew in the form of Jude Law's “Jedi” scoundrel, Jod Na Nawood. Known by some as Captain Silvo and Crimson Jack, Jod is a character who even Skeleton CrewThe young cast has a hard time trusting so quickly, especially after seeing New Republic guards chase the scoundrel onto the moon from Kh'ymm's observatory. While he may not have the characters nor the audience fully convinced yet, it appears that Star Wars wants to take viewers in a promising direction.
Despite this, Jod takes on a greater paternal role in Skeleton Crewlast episode, capturing the hearts of the audience. He appears to abandon his sense of self-preservation in favor of giving up the golden credits of the children of the Old Republic.which he could have kept for himself, for the Troiks' eopias – which gave him adequate negotiating space to free Fern, Wim, KB and Neel. What followed left fans ready to accept Jod as the next space dad in the Star Wars Galaxy.
Cat declares that the transformation began via X, sharing the moment when Neel runs to Jod and hugs him with relief and gratitude. Instead of refusing the hug, Jod keeps Neel close with gentle pats on the back.plus an awkward and endearing head nod that makes him actually fit the recent mold of reluctant Star Wars country.
About that, Olive no X agrees saying that the gesture looks like “familiar“, and it's no wonder why. The continued embrace of gratitude was also viewed with indisputably Star Wars most famous adoptive father, Din Djarin, when Grogu runs to the Mandalorian after being threatened by bandits on Tatooine.
Speaking of Din Djarin, Brooke on X makes a direct comparison between Jod and Din Djarin based on their definitive father positions. At the bottom of Skeleton Crew episode 4, Jod stands with a single hand on his hip, a posture that is often assumed by Din in The Mandalorian – especially when actor Pedro Pascal is in a suit.
What Jude Law's Jod joining Space Dads means for Star Wars
The archetype continues to grow
If Jod really is being groomed as a new space dad in Star Wars collection of this archetype, then this means that the franchise recognized how beloved this character trope really is. While space parents are nothing new to Star Warsstarting with the famous reveal of Darth Vader as Luke Skywalker's father, the story of Din Djarin and Grogu in The Mandalorian completely revolutionized the archetype of the galaxy far, far away. The “daddy's lot” in Star Wars: The Bad Batch it just furthered this trend, particularly with Hunter and Omega. Jod continues this trend.
Will Jod's loyalty to the skeleton crew really hold?
It's hard to say where your loyalties lie now
The question is whether or not Jod's status as space father to the titular Skeleton Crew will be maintained. It's still hard to tell whether Jod's actions are meant to benefit himself or because he's actually starting to care. about children. He knows he needs them if he wants to find Attin, which means his act of saving them here could simply be finding the planet's treasure. Hopefully, of course, Jod will realize how much he cares about the children in Skeleton Crew and has a complete change of heart.
