The Star Wars The franchise’s first seemingly Force-sensitive clone trooper debuted years earlier Star Wars: The Bad Batch introduced Omega, and the time seems right to bring this one-time character back. Republic clone troopers are among these Star Wars Galaxy’s most formidable soldiers, with their secret true goal is to earn the trust of the Jedi and betray them, facilitating Palpatine’s autocratic coup. Despite this, clone troopers have proven time and time again that they possess free will. The bad batch Proved that a clone trooper could even be Force-sensitive.
The Clone Wars: Defenders of the Lost Templeby Justin Acklin and Ben Bates, is a 2013 one-shot comic that ties in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. 2008s The Clone Wars Exists in a strange place in the Star Wars Franchise. Despite being released before the franchise’s partial reboot in 2014, which replaced the original Legends continuity with the modern canon, The Clone Wars Doesn’t fit into the Legends timeline and – according to Dave Filoni – was never intended to. therefore, The Clone Wars Must be handwaved as exclusive to the modern canon, as should be its adjacent properties.
Who was Glich, the first force-sensitive clone?
Defenders of the Lost Temple Introduces a squad of clone troopers who accompany Jedi Master B’ink Utrila and her Padawan Rennax Omani to Draay 2. One clone trooper, known as Glitch, is a firm believer in the ideologies and spirituality of the Jedi Order, despite possessing no Force abilities of his own.. However, Glitch tries to use the Force during his team’s mission to retrieve an ancient Sith gauntlet from Draay 2’s abandoned Jedi Temple. During the mission, the Death Watch terrorist group ambushes and captures the Jedi and clones, hoping to steal the gauntlet for their own purposes.

Glitch defiantly attacks Death Watch leader Pre Vizsla before he can execute one of his squadmates, using one of Rennax Omani’s lightsabers against the darksaber-wielding Vizsla. Although Glich was no match for Vizsla – a master duelist – he managed to activate a trap in the temple, causing the Death Watch to flee as the structure collapsed around them. Glich was seemingly the only Republic casualty in the skirmish, however He managed to survive by wearing the Sith Gauntlet and promptly threw the dark side trinket away, continuing to believe he could tap into the Force..
Star Wars Retcons mean the story of Glitch fits better than ever
Initially, Gleach’s belief that he could use the Force may have been far-fetched, however fresh Star Wars Properties recontextualize him and his potential Force-sensitivity. The bad batch Introduced Omega, a female clone of Jango Fett who was also hinted to be Force-sensitive in the last season of the show. The Ahsoka TV series also establishes that after the events of Star Wars RebelsThe Mandalorian Rebel Sabine Ren trained with Ahsoka Tano and eventually managed to effectively use the Force, showing that perhaps no Star Wars Character may become Force-sensitive.
Like Sabin in Rebels And much of AhsokaGleich is depicted as lacking a connection to the Force. Glich believes in basic components of Jedi philosophy and has complete faith in the Force. The Bad Batch’s Omega establishes that Jango Fett clones can potentially be Force-sensitive, so the pieces are all there for Glitch to become a genuine Force-sensitive clone trooper. What Glych lacks is formal training and education as a Jedi. If Glitch went through true Jedi training, perhaps, after enough time and effort, he might be able to use the Force in rudimentary ways. Like Sabine.
Will Star Wars bring back Glitz?
For Glich to undergo any sort of Jedi training, he first needs to be reintroduced to the Star Wars Franchise. Slip is Mia at the end of Defenders of the Lost TemplePerhaps allowing him to avoid being brainwashed by his control chip when Order 66 is enacted. Between the prequel and original trilogies, Glitch could be reunited with Rennax Omani – who left the Jedi Order after the mission to Draay 2 – and perhaps she would give him some unofficial Jedi training, allowing him to finally use the Force.

Defenders of the Lost TempleLike others The Clone Wars linking properties, Should be considered exclusively part of the modern Star Wars Canon. Recent TV shows have (perhaps unintentionally) shed new light on Glish and his faith in the Force, so it might be time to bring him back in a future Star Wars Comic and continue his story. Sabine Wren proved that anyone can become Force-sensitive and Omega showed that the Force can run through Jango Fett’s clones.
