Additionally, Jod was known as Captain Silvo, the leader of the Skeleton Crewantagonistic pirates.
Skeleton Crew episode 5 then provided the apparent appearance of Jude Law Star Wars "Jedi" with another name, Dash Zentin, further placing his identity in doubt. However, one thing that underlined Law's character's entire identity is his use of the Force. Through four main tips, Skeleton Crew may have revealed that Law's character is, after all, a Jedi, even though he has strayed from the Order's path of light and peace.
Jude Law's Jod Na Nawood knows how to use a lightsaber
A Jedi's weapon looked familiar to Jod
The biggest hint about Jude Law's character being a Jedi in Skeleton Crew comes in the final scene of the episode. After a climactic duel in which Jod became the new captain of the Onyx Cinder, complete with an all-new weapon taken from Captain Tak Rennod's safe. This weapon is synonymous with the Jedi, with Jod being the owner of a blue lightsaber.
The lightsaber was hidden in the safe and found by Wim, who tried to use it to defeat Jod and keep Fern as captain of the ship. Skeleton CrewIt's Onyx Cinder. However, the boy lost control of the gun, leading Jod to grab it using the Force as a weapon. Skeleton Crew episode 5 has come to an end. The weapon felt familiar to Jod, with the character instantly knowing how to power it up, hinting at a Jedi past that saw him trained with the iconic laser swords.
Jod quotes an old Jedi saying straight from the phantom menace
The words of a deceased Jedi master live on
Another hint about Jod's potential Jedi history came at the beginning of the episode, during a conversation with Wim. While giving the child a pep talk to give him more confidence in his journey, Jod talks about Wim's imagination. He states to Wim "Your focus determines your reality" which is a direct quote directly from Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. These exact words are spoken by Qui-Gon Jinn to Anakin Skywalker in the first prequel film, suggesting that Jod may have a connection to the former Jedi Master, or at least to the Order through the popular mantra.
Jod's philosophy on attachments is a twisted version of the Jedi
Jedi and their attachments are an old Star Wars theme
In the same scene in Skeleton Crew episode 5, another hint about Jod's Jedi connections is found. Before quoting Qui-Gon, Jod tells Wim that, ironically, he needs to forget about his parents and Attin to focus on returning to the planet. Jod states that all these things that worry Wim are known as attachments and that they are best forgotten.
Jod insists that he has forgotten his own attachments, just as a Jedi is instructed to do from a young age. Although Jod's lesson to Wim seems notably less moral than that promoted by the Jedi Order, the end result is the same. Jod may have learned to let go of his attachments as part of his training as a Jedihinting that he might be of the Order after all.
Only a trained Jedi can use the force as he does
The final hint that Jod is a Jedi in Skeleton Crew is peppered throughout all five episodes so far: his use of the Force. While it was theorized that Jod was pretending to use the Force in the series' earliest episodes, it now appears that the character is actually capable of tapping into the mysterious energy field synonymous with the Jedi. . More than just being able to use the Force, Jod's control over it is remarkable.
From levitating small objects with precision to turning lights on and off, Jod has an intense connection to the Force. While some characters in Star Wars are known to possess inherent connections to the Force, generally only Jedi who have had years of training can extend their will in such a precise manner. If the events of Skeleton Crew Any indication, Jod could pose as someone with this type of training, suggesting he may be one of the Star Wars'iconic space wizards after much teasing to the contrary.
