Warning! This post contains spoilers for Star Wars: Battle of Jakku – Insurgency Rising #1Star Wars Just revealed when Leah organ Jedi way first began. In the wake of the Battle of Endor, the Rebellion was enjoying celebrations with the Ewok tribes as seen at the end of Return of the Jedi. However, a new and canonical Marvel series revealed that Leia was offered the chance to become a Jedi, just like her twin brother Luke Skywalker.
As seen in Marvel’s new Star Wars: Battle of Jakku – Insurgency Rising #1 By Alex Segrua, Leonard Kirk and Rachelle Rosenberg, Leia Organa leaves the festivities on Endor to speak with Darth Vader’s still-smoldering remains on his funeral pyre, having only recently learned from Luke that the redeemed Sith Lord was her father. Still harboring quite a bit of anger against everything Anakin Skywalker did as Vader, Leia’s darker emotions are felt by her brother, prompting Luke’s offer to train his sister in the ways of the Force.
Naturally, Leia isn’t sure whether to say yes to Luke’s offer, and the Skywalker siblings are interrupted by a report about the Empire’s Governor Adelhard and the Anot Sector. however, This new Star Wars Moment is crucial and quite noteworthy, considering it is already known that Leia eventually agrees to be trained as a Jedi (though not for long).
Luke felt the darkness of Leia after Return of the Jedi
Still reeling from the truth about Darth Vader
Unable to forgive and set aside all that her father did as Darth Vader, Leia’s inner turmoil is all about Luke. Not lacking anger and the dark side to drive his sister, Luke casually offers to train Leia in the ways of the Force. As such, Luke recognizing his sister’s potential validates both of Yoda’s comments Empire strikes back About there is another hope for the galaxy should Luke fail or fall, and the words of Vader himself in Return of the Jedi When he thought the Sith would try to corrupt Leia to the dark side if Luke refused to turn.

In Leia’s defense, it makes sense that she would have a harder time letting go of her anger at Vader compared to her brother. After all, Vader himself was responsible for torturing her on the Death Star. Combined with the fact that the battle station destroyed her home world not long after, and Leia’s struggle to let go of her anger is more than justified. To that end, it certainly adds a fascinating layer of depth both to the end of Return of the Jedi And to her Jedi training ahead (although it canonically does not last long).
Leia begins her Jedi path, but it doesn’t last long
Thanks to your vision of the future
As seen in the official Star Wars Canon, Leia will eventually say yes and receive training from Luke, constructing her very own lightsaber and learning to use the Force as a Jedi. however, The Rise of Skywalker Confirms that Leia will eventually walk away from her Jedi training, having sensed the death of her future son at the end of her Jedi path and that someone would eventually take her lightsaber and continue her journey (revealed to be Rey Skywalker). Regardless, it will be very exciting to hopefully see more of Leia’s training as the new one Star Wars Series continues.
