A brand new Star Wars The book confirms what Anakin Skywalker always suspected: Master Yoda I never truly trusted him. From the minute Anakin arrived on Coruscant in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace and appeared before the Council, he felt (and was treated) like an outsider. The tensions surrounding that initial meeting and the relationship between Anakin and the Jedi Masters had major influences on Anakin’s life. Star Wars timeline, particularly his growing animosity towards the Jedi and his ultimate downfall. In fact, this introduction was one of the defining moments in Anakin’s downfall.
A new Star Wars book, Star Wars Encyclopedia: The Complete Guide to the Star Wars Galaxywritten by Dan Brooks, Megan Crouse, Amy Richau, Amy Ratcliffe, Brandon Wainerdi, Dan Zehr and Kelly Knox, confirms that This was much more than just Anakin’s perception. The book states:

He later changes his mind after Qui-Gon is killed by a Sith on Naboo, but he never entirely wins over his feelings of discomfort. Over the next few years, Yoda watches over Padawan Skywalker and his master, Obi-Wan Kenobi.”

What Yoda’s distrust means for Star Wars
Confirmation that Yoda didn’t trust Anakin reveals that Anakin was right, from a certain point of view
There’s no doubt that Yoda and the other members of the Jedi Council had every intention of doing the right thing in the prequel trilogy and approached Anakin with such caution because they wanted to safeguard the light side of the Force and the future of the Jedi. Despite your intentions, the Jedi Council’s treatment of Anakin in The phantom menace, Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clonesand Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith made it much easier for Anakin to fall to the dark side. While the Jedi cannot be entirely to blame, their behavior was harmful to Anakin.
What makes Yoda’s feelings even more troubling and disappointing is the specific notion that Yoda was unable to “overcome” his feelings of discomfort. This wording suggests This was contrary to the Jedi way – something Yoda should not have been feeling – but he was unable to overcome the discomfort.. This is also interesting given the consistency Star Wars Movies and TV shows reinforce that Jedi were made to control their feelings. Clearly, this was a handicap for Yoda in this case, as he was unable to let go of his concerns about Anakin, which impacted his treatment of him.
Our opinion on Yoda’s attitude towards Anakin
Anakin’s treatment, especially early on, made things much worse
Many factors contributed to Anakin’s fall to the dark side, and it’s difficult to pinpoint whether one change could have meant that Anakin never became Darth Vader. There’s a pretty stark difference between a question like whether Anakin would have fallen if Ahsoka had remained in the Jedi Order and how Yoda (and the other Jedi) treating Anakin differently could have shaped his destiny. With the treatment of the Jedi, this was a daily tension and sadness that Anakin felt, and it lasted for years, starting when he was still a child..
It’s easy to understand why feeling like the Jedi didn’t want him there and never trusted him made Anakin more susceptible to Palpatine’s manipulations, particularly in regards to the Jedi and their intentions. This does not excuse Anakin’s behavior nor does it imply that he does not bear immense responsibility for everything he has done; he is responsible for how he responded to his environment. Even so, this new Star Wars book confirms that Teacher Yoda actually remained wary of Anakin Skywalker, which provides a little more insight into why and how he ultimately fell to the dark side.
