While characters such as Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Leia Organa, and Anakin Skywalker are often among the most cited, there are many non-human characters who also deserve recognition. Darth Maul (Zabrak)
First appearance: Star Wars. Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999).
During Darth Maul's live-action tenure Star wars was relatively short Maul has become one of the greatest characters in animation. - thanks to Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series. As Darth Sidious' apprentice, Maul was able to not only shake up the Jedi, who had previously believed the Sith to be extinct, but also kill Qui-Gon Jinn just before being cut in half by Obi-Wan Kenobi. Miraculously, he survived this event, driven only by revenge. This thirst for revenge is what drove Maul for the rest of his life, fueling his every move.
From creating an entire network of crime syndicates in his Shadow Collective alliance to seizing the throne of Mandalore, the character of Maul has become something of a legend in the world. Star wars. He went from being one of the Star wars from the most underused villains to one of the most exciting antagonists. Maul's story is now highly respected, and while he still doesn't live up to the other heroes (and villains) on this list, he definitely deserves to have a place here.

Garazeb Orrelios (Lasat)
First appearance: Star Wars Rebels (2014)
This Lasat rebel, better known as Zeb, was one of the few of his people to escape the destruction of his home planet, which left him with a deep hatred of the Empire. Joining the Phoenix rebel cell of Lothal, Zeb began channeling his anger into coordinated missions against the Empire with his family helping to heal the wounds left by the extermination of his people. Still, Zeb faced challenges that forced him to learn to forgive those who had wronged him and move on.which ultimately led him to befriend those he once considered enemies.

This change in Zeb, where he eventually opened up and became more accepting of others, helped him become one of Star wars best non-human characters. Zeb has always been the classic, rugged, hardened soldier with a heart of gold. He could be brash and angry, but he always had great compassion. Watching this part of his personality come out more and more throughout the film. Star Wars Rebels it's a real treat that I hope we see more of in the future. Zeb's character falls short of just a few other iconic names.

C-3PO (Protocol Droid)
First appearance: Star Wars (1977).
It's impossible to talk about non-human characters without mentioning this iconic droid duo, starting with C-3PO. As one of the first characters ever seen in Star wars, C-3PO alone carries a very recognizable image that even those who have never seen Star wars can easily recognize. While C-3PO has often served as the human voice of heroes, expressing the fears that any person might have in tense situations, C-3PO certainly had his share of heroism, which earns him a place on this list.
Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that C-3PO, like his droid friend, is one of the few Star wars characters who will appear in all nine films of the Skywalker saga. From the original Star wars in 1977 Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Climbing In 2019, C-3PO witnessed the Skywalker family's highest and lowest lows. C-3PO even continues to be an important figure in Star wars TV shows in which he makes a cameo appearance Ahsoka season 1. While C-3PO certainly has his flaws, he is still without a doubt one of the best.

R2-D2 (astromech droid)
First appearance: Star Wars (1977).
The other half of the iconic droid duo, R2-D2, has also earned a place as one of the best non-human characters in the franchise. R2 is a fan favorite and, without a shadow of a doubt, the best droid in the entire galaxy. Having been Anakin Skywalker's right-hand man during the Clone Wars and about to do the same for his son Luke Skywalker, R2 is as loyal as any droid can be.. He is even loyal to C-3PO, despite their bad habit of bickering and picking fights with each other.
R2 also performed many heroic deeds during his life. He first proves himself by being the only astromech to repair Padmé Amidala's ship when they flee Naboo, and then becomes an astromech in X-Wing when Luke Skywalker destroys the Death Star. The trust that Anakin places in R2 throughout the Clone Wars speaks well for this beloved droid hero. The only thing that gives the other characters on this list an edge is that since they aren't droids, they have even more transformative stories, although R2 will always be one of the best.

Grogu (Unknown)
First appearance: The Mandalorian (2019)
Grogu is not only one of Star wars the best non-human characters, but also one of the most charming in the franchise. Grogu took the world by storm as "Baby Yoda" after his surprise debut in The Mandalorianand the way his character has grown since then has only made him better. Grogu originally started out as a rather helpless young Jedi and is now a Mandalorian apprentice studying under his adoptive father, Din Djarin. He is extremely strong, even as a child, but his heart outweighs any Force powers he could ever possess.
Grogu managed to change his father from the inside, turning a lonely bounty hunter into a loving and protective father. This is due to Grogu's own compassion, which he shows time and time again, helping those in need without needing words to do so. Grogu's story will become even more interesting as he learns the Mandalorian Path, trading his Jedi path for a path that allows him to spend as much time as possible with his father. However, up to this point, five other non-human characters still defeat Grogu.

Hera Syndulla (Twi'lek)
First appearance: Star Wars Rebels (2014)
Hera Syndulla is another member of the Phoenix rebel cell - possibly co-chairing it along with her lover Kanan Jarrus - who has since grown into a respected general in the Rebel Alliance. Hera knew who she wanted to be from a young age, as she and her droid Chopper resisted the Empire's occupation of Ryloth immediately after the fall of the Galactic Republic. Years later, she became famous as the best pilot in the galaxyaccomplishing feats that no one else could even dream of - all while caring for his newly formed family.
Even after losing Kanan, Hera's power never faded. If anything, she became even stronger as she moved forward, helping lead the Rebel Alliance to victory during the Galactic Civil War. Hera's heart and strength are two of her most admirable traits, both of which helped her become one of Star wars best non-human characters. Only a few managed to surpass her and achieve a higher rank, but this does not make Hera's character any less important.

Grand Admiral Thrawn (Chiss)
First appearance: Heir to the Empire (1991) [Novel]
Grand Admiral Thrawn's rise to prominence alone proves why he deserves to be on this list and a place in the top five. Thrawn appeared in 1991. Heir to the Empire novel, a book perhaps the most important of all others - if only because it helped give impetus to the development Star wars The Expanded Universe, which has since become the stuff of legends, and the current state Star wars canon. However, when it comes to his character, Thrawn stands apart. He's easy Star wars the smartest villainand that makes him surprisingly scary.
Thrawn's role as a non-human is significant in-universe as he is the only high-ranking Imperial official who is not human. This is due to Thrawn's reputation as a tactician, which led him to great victories. Even in the midst of defeat, Thrawn can emerge victorious because he learns from every experience in a way that his colleagues and enemies simply do not. Thrawn has only just begun to scratch the surface in live-action after brilliant storylines in the novels and animation, meaning he could rise up this list over time - but three other iconic characters have yet to surpass him.

Chewbacca (Wookiee)

Another one of Star wars The most iconic and most recognizable non-human character is Chewbacca. Wookiee, Han Solo's best friend and closest confidante, has been a hero since his first Star wars appearance - despite the fact that he did not receive a medal. Chewie and his signature Shirivuk growl are on a level comparable to Darth Vader and his breath, completely synonymous with Star wars brand. Chewbacca earned his place by being a loyal friend to everyone, especially Han Solo.
Over my long life, Chewbacca played an important role in helping the rebels defeat oppressive governments.. Without him, neither the Rebel Alliance nor the Resistance would have ever succeeded. More than anything else, however, he was the heart of the team. His physical strength was great, but his heart was even greater as he fiercely protected everyone he cared about time and time again. For this and many other reasons, Chewbacca will always remain one of the Star wars the best characters, and here only two rise above him.

Yoda (Unknown)
First appearance: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
Yoda is another character that has become synonymous with Star wars brand, and the wisdom with which he has guided many generations is the reason for this. While he made some mistakes as Grand Master of the Jedi Order, it cannot be underestimated that he was a member of their ranks for centuries, helping both the Jedi and the galaxy prosper during its golden age. Even in the dark Yoda gave lightoffering advice to those who need it most. Everyone respected and respected him very much.
Even more important is Yoda's role in training the next generation of Jedi. Due to Obi-Wan sacrificing himself to save Luke and his friends from Darth Vader on the Death Star, Yoda was the only one left to complete Luke's training. Forced to become a Jedi soldier at a young age, Ahsoka is one of the most powerful and capable Force users to ever wield a lightsaber. She managed to survive Order 66 on a Jedi cruiser full of brainwashed clone troopers with little to no help, and even survived a duel against her former Jedi Master Darth Vader. She has defeated death not once, not twice, but three times, which proves how important and powerful she is. Ahsoka, without a doubt, became Star wars' best non-human character and certainly one of the most iconic.
