STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl released with many peculiar problems, and a player shared a bug where their weapon is mysteriously swapped with a new weapon – and they're not the only ones experiencing it. Numerous bug issues since its release, including some glaring issues with A-Life, have seen STALKER 2 under some scrutiny after its 14 years of development. But despite not working perfectly, the game still sold over 1 million copies while offering an experience that was worth the wait for players.

Taking to Reddit to share his baffling experience on STALKER 2user Skankhunt-XLII posted a strange clip of his weapon being randomly replaced with a new weapon while exploring the Zone. Evidently displaying his confusion by pausing to inspect the new weapon in his hands, the player is apparently unsure of what happened, going online to ask: “Anyone else experience this?” With your own now placed in your inventory instead of being held, this random weapon seemingly appears out of nowhere.

User Inner_Ad_7734 He also gives an explanation about what could be happening, writing: “This happens when an enemy spawns near you, instead of the enemy equipping the weapon, the game equips it for the player.”While this information is unconfirmed, it seems likely that the game somehow confused the entities and incorrectly provided the item to players.

Despite its many years in development, there have been reports of some bugs in the STALKER 2 impacting player experiences. Developer GSC Game World has been hard at work since the game's launch in November, ensuring patches and fixes are implemented. While it's never ideal for a game to have bugs, the GSC Game World team has worked hard to fix issues early on. Through several patches and fixes already released and addressing many of the game's biggest issues, players can tell that the team here is genuinely passionate about the game they created. It may take a little longer for A-Life's larger issue to be resolved as well, but the hard-working team continues to convey their dedication to resolving all issues.

There's also something a little hilarious about players calling bugs “anomalies”referencing the in-game effects that the Zone can cause as if they were an intentional quirk experienced because of radiation. With fans rallying behind the game anyway and clearly still enjoying their time with it, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl continues to be a success. With so much attention and an incredible game beneath the bugs, GSC Game World showed what must be done for a truly great game launch.
