Spider-Man gets the darkest redesign ever as Marvel’s new king in black

Warning! Spoilers for Venom War: Spider-Man #3!Spider-Man he had many dark possible fates, including a future in which he finds himself completely alone after accidentally killing Mary Jane, and a future in which he is killed while trying to save people. But the darkest future for Peter Parker must be one where he becomes the King in Black and uses his webs to try to hold up a collapsing universe.

This dark fate led to several former friends and relatives, including his own daughter, turning against him to try to break Peter’s iron grip on the universe. Unfortunately, Peter’s power is too great and he ends up… brutally killing all his friends and remaining family. Peter tried to create a universe full of structure and order, but he ended up killing the people closest to him.

It’s no secret that Peter Parker is extremely important to the Marvel Universe. Time and time again, Peter finds himself at the center of everything, and his existence truly matters. He’s one of Marvel’s greatest heroes, so it’s surprising that he seemed destined to become his greatest villainwhich is confirmed by Eventuality, a god-like version of Venom who seems to know everything related to the symbiote’s past and future. After all, it states that if Peter had never given up the Venom symbiote, he would have become the next King in Black.

This future was avoided when Peter managed to free himself from the Venom symbiote, rejecting it and also unknowingly rejecting the horrific future that awaited him. Instead, that fate passed to Eddie Brock, who became Venom’s next lead. While Peter certainly didn’t intend to do this, he seemed to be dooming Eddie to the very same fate he had managed to avoid. Visions of the future revealed that Eddie Brock would eventually commit genocide across the universe.begging to be killed and freed from the role of King in Black that Peter had unknowingly doomed him to.

It seems no one can be happier than the King in Black. Knull attempted to destroy all light in the universe to escape his responsibilities. When Peter becomes King in Black, he kills most of his friends in an attempt to maintain order and peace in the universe. When Eddie Brock becomes the King in Black, he rampages through the universe in the distant future, killing everything he comes across. Bye Spider-Man avoided this terrible future, he could have doomed Eddie Brock to it instead.
