Do these Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Whether the Season Pass is a worthwhile purchase will depend on the individual player, and how much they enjoy the game’s Operations and Endless War modes. – PvE co-op missions and six-versus-six PvP matches respectively. Cosmetic items cannot be used in the main campaign, so if a player does not see himself constantly returning to Space Marine 2s multiplayer during a year, the Season Pass may not be worth it. On the other hand, if players find the unlockable base-game cosmetics lacking and find themselves drawn to the multiplayer, this could be a decent investment.

That said, $40 feels a bit steep, even if the Season Pass could give purchasers access to new content for roughly a year. Such monetization models are often used by games with a more dedicated live-service model, or conversely, those who plan to drop more significant content expansions. Space Marine 2 land somewhere in the middle; Promising new content for all its players is wonderful, but the Season Pass doesn’t quite have the appeal of a more traditional Battle PassEven if such DLC is often and rightly criticized for preying on players’ fear of missing out.

Another factor that must be considered is that seasons 3 and 4 of the Space Marine 2 Season passes are largely unknown quantities. The non-specific cosmetic packs aren’t likely to be major surprises—here’s a hint: the skins will look like Space Marines—but from a consumer standpoint, it’s hard to buy something that remains mostly a mystery. But with that in mind, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Comes as a complete, fairly robust package, and purchasing additional DLC is the best way to support the game after launch, and potentially help fund another sequel that won’t take another 13 years to release.
