Sorry, But Belly Deserves the Hate – Season 2 Villain Arc Explained

Belly Conrad (Lola Tung) has kind of been in her villain arc in The summer I became beautifuland the show needs to know it’s not doing the character any favors. The coming-of-age drama, The summer I became beautifulBased on the trilogy of novels by Jenny Han, it’s always been filled with painfully awkward moments from your high school years that you desperately try to remove any evidence of from your Facebook page. This can sometimes make the show particularly difficult to watch, but at least it’s always honest and the situations are relatable.

Shows how The summer I became beautiful are full of characters making bad choices. Are they young people in love, who made all the right choices at that time? The main character of The summer I became beautiful is no different, and Belly often finds herself in difficult situations that she is not always prepared to deal with. Generally, I think this is great. Belly has to deal with a problem without a full set of tools and drama unfolds. Boom. But in season 2, Belly made such an obvious mistake with the Fishers that I’m looking at her askance.

Belly Dumped Conrad The Summer I Got Pretty, Season 2

Belly was not the victim of the breakup

After the time jump The summer I became beautiful Season 1, Season 2 finds all the characters dealing with the fallout from the previous season, namely the death of Jeremiah Fisher’s (Gavin Casalegno) and Conrad Fisher’s (Christopher Briney) mother, who passed away from cancer. It was obviously a very sad and destabilizing event for the brothers, and at some point it became too much, and Belly and Conrad broke up. Fair. In flashbacks, it is revealed that the couple had a big fight and now they are divided.

Now no one is talking to Belly. Jeremiah is still hurt that Belly chose his brother over him, and Conrad’s heart is freshly bruised from the breakup. Belly makes it look like Conrad pushed her, but at the same time, She’s not being very considerate of the fact that his mother just died. Maybe a little space in the belly? Or I don’t know, feel free to mention that you know his change in attitude could be because of the recent loss of a loved one. From her history on the show, it’s almost like she forgot.

This is reckless behavior from the villain. Worse still, when Conrad disappears, she dedicates herself to searching for him, despite Jeremiah asking her to stay away. While it seems like Jeremiah and Belly have left their story behind for the moment, it has never been picked up again and Season 2 is just a long wait until The summer I came Beautiful season 2 finale where Belly chooses Jeremiah and all’s well that ends well.

Jeremiah and Conrad Aren’t Treated Like Brothers in The Summer I Got Beautiful, Season 2

Belly has no regard for fishermen’s feelings

Well, all is not well as far as I am concerned. Belly’s hesitation between Conrad and Jeremiah really made her look bad this season. If you look at what Belly has done this season, it’s really hard to see her as the hero, she’s almost the villain. It’s like Belly and The summer I became beautiful completely forget that Jeremiah and Conrad are brothers. While the love triangle between the trio is a fun idea, it almost feels like it was written for unrelated characters because Belly never treats them like they’re related. It’s strange.

There is a much deeper connection between the three than Belly seems to suggest with her arrogant attitude towards both relationships.

Belly treats these two guys like she doesn’t really owe either of them anything. They are just two boys that she is interested in and who are interested in her. A classic romance story. However, that is not what is happening. Jeremiah and Conrad are brothers, both with a history with Belly and this cannot be ignored. There is a much deeper connection between the three than Belly seems to suggest with her arrogant attitude towards both relationships.

These aren’t some high school kids going their separate ways. Any decision she makes will profoundly affect their relationship and Belly isn’t paying attention to it. It’s another problem I have with Belly and her story; she does not take the Fishers’ feelings into consideration. Even when it seems like Jeremiah wants to break off the relationship, Belly keeps pushing him forward. Calm down, girl, his mother just died and you were dating his brother.

This all creates really weird scenes of everyone getting sad and morose and Belly jumping around like she’s in a candy store.deciding which treat she wants to take home. This makes her seem almost like a sociopath, completely indifferent to anyone else around her. This is like a meet cute for Belly. For me, it’s watching someone relentlessly pursue another person, even if the other person is in a completely different state of mind. She doesn’t even think to mention to Jeremiah how weird it is that she dated his brother!

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 is set to explore Belly’s friendship with Taylor

The belly needs to be supportive very quickly

Taylor (Rain Spencer) smiling in the first season of The Summer I Turned Pretty.

All I can say is that in The summer I became beautiful In Season 3, Belly will need to explore something beyond this semi-sadistic love triangle she happily participated in all of Season 2 before ending it and choosing Jeremiah (while wearing Conrad’s sweater just to rub her face in him some more). The third season is expected to explore the friendship between Belly and her friend Taylor (Rain Spencer). Taylor was put on the back burner in the face of the Fisher-Belly love triangle. Let’s see friends reconnect.

Taylor has always been fiercely ride-or-die for her friends, while Belly has always been a bit wishy-washy. If Belly wants to free himself from these villainous accusations, becoming a better friend to Belly would be a good step in that direction. The pair go to volleyball camp in The summer I became beautiful season 2 finale. This could be the perfect time for the show to take a closer look at their friendship. Maybe Belly can think of someone other than her this time.
