Sony just introduced Spider-Man’s equivalent of Kong to the live-action world, in a move with huge implications for both his universe and the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie Spider-Man 4.
Talk of whether the upcoming sequel will be a street-level or a multiverse Spider-Man story has been circling for some time, suggesting that A villain who transcends these differences and can serve as a threat to either could be the perfect choice going forward. Following the establishment of Celestials in the MCU, this new threat could be a perfect antagonist for Spider-Man.
With everything that is known Spider-Man 4The villain of the film will certainly be an important component of the story. Following Spider-Man: No Way Homeusing villains from the hero’s past, It is likely that a new enemy will be introduced in Spider-Man 4. Some talked about introducing a new Norman Osborn, or including Black Cat in the film. However, this is another villain that could crossover to the Spider-Man film in a perfect way after being revealed in a new Sony movie trailer.
Venom: The Last Dance’s latest trailer introduces Knull
Knull is the creator of the symbiotes
The new trailer for Venom: The Last Dance reveals that Venom will be pitted against the ridiculously powerful Knull, an antagonist arguably as powerful as Kong the Conqueror, in the film. Give notes in the trailer “My home found us,” Before he revealed that his creator is the one after them. The film seems to expand the lore of the symbiotes in the Venom films and is clearly setting up a conflict between Knull, the creator and god of the symbiotes, and Venom, the useless combination of Eddie Brock and the symbiote.
The trailer is intense and shows exciting conflicts with monsters in all kinds of settings. however, There were also rumors that Venom might die in the upcoming film. If that were to happen, it could be that Knull is set up to be a bigger villain than simply in the film. Having the villain introduced here before moving into the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be an exciting and compelling way to tie the franchises together.
Knull is a massively powerful villain in the Marvel comics
Knull was introduced in 2018
Knull is a fairly recent addition to the symbiote lore, debuting in Poison Comics in 2018 after a single unnamed appearance Thor: God of Thunder in 2013. Knull is the creator of the symbiotes, and is a god of darkness. He is often referred to as the King in Black, and has had several symbiote stories in the comics. Hunting down those who allied with symbiotes, Knull wound up killing Eddie Brock in Marvel comics, though the character has since been revived.
Knull’s powers and abilities are reflective of his god status, and he also traditionally carries a Necrosword – an immensely powerful weapon in Marvel lore – known as the All-Black, made from a combination of the First Symbiote and a Death Celestial. Beyond superhuman strength and abilities, Knull is also able to create and control symbiotes. His control of a living Abyss allowed him to use these abilities to control symbiote dragons in an assault on Earth. He has existed for billions of years, and has incredible ability and knowledge of his existence at that time.
How Knull could become the villain of Marvel’s Spider-Man 4
Spider-Man 4 Needs a new and compelling villain, and Knull would make sense after a symbiote story is set in Spider-Man: No Way Homes post-credits scene, where Venom left a part of himself behind. in the comics, Knull hunts down people who bond with symbiotes, and It appears that this is the plan for The Last Dance too. Having said that, it makes sense that Knull would discover a part of Venom is missing, and find himself hunting down Spider-Man in the MCU after the events of the film.
If Spider-Man 4 Deciding to tell a multiverse story instead, there are also connections to Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man. His Peter Parker was connected to the symbiote Spider-Man 3 Before destroying it, suggesting that Knull might want to hunt him down too. If the MCU decides to continue with a symbiote story in their universe, it is likely that they will put a new and compelling spin on the story. Using Knull would assist with this significantly.
