Smallville actress Lois Lane addresses whether she would join James Gunn's DC Universe

Lois Lane actress Erica Durance reveals whether she would like to appear in James Gunn’s DC Universe yet Smallville. With the DC Universe’s Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters slate coming up, it will usher in a new era for DC in both live action and animation by DC Studios. While a new DC continuity will begin, there are DC actors from previous movies and TV shows who could rejoin the brand in a different role.

ScreenRant Durance was recently interviewed for the upcoming Welcome to Smallville event this weekend while chatting about her overall legacy with the DC TV drama. After also appearing in Supergirl As part of the Arrowverse, Durance was asked if she would have any interest in Gunn’s DC Universe if she were ever offered a role in it. She shared the following:

Of course I would! It’s a fun, fun world to be in this superhero/fantasy/sci-fi mishmash. I would want something that has aspects of all different kinds of things. But I, personally as a viewer, enjoy these shows so to be able to be a part of something like this again would be a really great experience.

It’s important to remember that Durance has been part of the DC family for almost two decades, after starring in Smallville Seasons 4-10 over seven years and then make multiple appearances as Kara Zor-El’s mother on Supergirl. To hear that Durance is more than open to further revisiting the comic book film and television genre speaks volumes.As she had great experience portraying Lois Lane and Alura Zor-El. Even though it ended a decade ago, Durance is also still game to come back for these Smallville Animated sequel show that is trying.

Because someone like Smallville Durance in Gunn’s DC Universe would be a phenomenal way to add some legacy casting to the franchisewhile responding to what came before. Smallville was great at including many actors who appeared in previous Superman movies and/or TV shows as a nod to the franchise’s cinematic legacy. It’s even why it was such a big deal when Durance took over Laura Benanti on Supergirland portrayed the daughter of Steele’s Kryptonian mother.

With Durance an incredibly talented actress, It would be fun to see you play someone new in any of the upcoming DC Universe movies or TV shows. Of course, the hope is that DC Studios will pave the way for a Smallville Revival to happen, but it would be separate, and does not mean that Durance and other actors could not also have roles in the main DC Universe. For now, time will tell if it is Smallville Actor will be cast in Gunn’s DC Universe.

Smallville is a superhero television series based on the Superman comic book series created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The television release was developed by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. The premise revolves around a young Clark Kent when he arrives on Earth and tries to live his life while simultaneously keeping his friends, family and those around him safe thanks to his superpowers.
