Leon Brown (formerly Mariah Brown) is the only child of Sister Wives stars Kody and Meri Brown, and they are married to their partner, Audrey Kriss. Leon and Audrey met while studying at Westminster College. Leon admitted to having a crush on Audrey for a year before they started dating. After two years together, Leon proposed to Audrey in 2019.
Although a small part of their relationship was featured in Sister WivesLeon and Audrey try to keep their connection outside of the Sister Wives spotlight. Together, they share most of their thoughts and experiences on social media and are advocates for the LGBTQ+ community. Meri has always shown herself to be a supportive mother, so when Leon came out as transgender, Meri defended her son and expressed her pride in Leon.

Audrey is a talented graphic designer. Their personal Instagram directs followers to their graphic design Instagram, @audreykrisscreative, where they showcase their talent as a digital artist. Put InTouchAudrey also does illustration and social media coordination. Additionally, Audrey is responsible for marketing, branding, and all social media work for Meri’s guesthouse, Lizzie’s Heritage Inn.

With an Instagram post in December 2021, Audrey publicly came out as transgender and said her pronouns are they/them. Audrey expressed her fear and hesitation about coming out because they were afraid of hate and backlash. However, they also pointed out the positive reasons for taking this step. Saying, “I’m SO happy it’s me!” Audrey also wrote that they were starting to feel more comfortable with their bodies. In her Instagram bio, Audrey says they are one “queer subaru” who loves sports. Audrey advocates for LGBTQ+ mental health and suicide prevention.

After getting engaged in January 2019 during Washington DC Pride, Leon and Audrey moved to Denver, Colorado. In October 2022, the couple secretly married, just days before Leon’s brother Logan Brown’s wedding in Arizona. Leon and Audrey regularly express their love and devotion to each other on social media and often share selfies with captions about each other.

LionHer transition journey has been courageous. They grew up in Sister Wives world, and polygamy involves very outdated rules. In essence, polygamy is patriarchy in action. Those who believe that men should rule families and have many wives think that this practice is ordained by God. This may be a generalization, but it is highly unlikely that people like this would be seen dancing in Pride parades or leaving positive comments about trans rights on social media. That’s why Leon sometimes keeps a low profile… but not in the inspiring post shown above. Leo wrote:

Leon confronts his fears with such enthusiasm, really inclined to change and speak out. Maybe Audrey will give Leon the strength to fight his enemies and be authentic online. However, it is quite possible that Leon has always been very strong. In the Brown family, a trans trip is a big deal and Leon did it anyway because it was meant to be. Reportedly, Paedon and Kody Brown did not approve. Leon is not the biggest fan of Paedon, who can be a buffoon.

In the post above, Lion they celebrated their love in the park, sharing a tender moment with their partner. It’s a huge victory for Leon to be proud and at peace with his body. Audrey feels comfortable too – they are so in tune. After Leon posted the cute photo of them sitting together on a blanket, with Audrey reading and Leon looking at her adoringly, fans showed their love. No cruel trolls marred the beauty of this moment. Audrey gave her opinion, leaving the comment:

It’s an ultra-modern love story in some ways, but on the other hand, there have always been people who are queer. For as long as there have been human beings, there have been queer human beings. Therefore, this summer love story is also timeless.

Garrison Brown passed away
Leon became estranged from the Brown family in some ways, but that doesn’t mean they weren’t devastated when Garrison Brown passed away on March 5, 2024. That event was so sad, so shocking… it was a nightmare. While viewers certainly knew the Brown family had problems, no one realized how serious they were. Sometimes people who are very depressed keep things inside. The pressure increases and then they decide to end their lives. It’s heartbreaking.
As Sister Wives Season 19 unfolds, off-screen, the family is mourning a Brown child who grew up to adulthood and made many people happy. He adopted a cat, Mrs. Buttons, saving her from euthanasia. He served his country in the Nevada State Guard and dreamed of a greater military career. He was a great friend – a good roommate, a caring landlord, and someone who was loved.
This great loss makes the love that remains more precious. This highlights how fragile life can be. Leon and Audrey are honoring their love online and it’s amazing that they can truly be themselves. Who they are is definitely good enough – in fact, they are both wonderful people who deserve lasting happiness.
While neither Leon nor Audrey have shared any photos or information about their wedding, it’s clear they are happy together. Undoubtedly, Sister Wives star Meri is happy for her only child. She supported Leon every step of the way.
