The Silent Hill 2 Remake was initially met with some skepticism, but glowing reviews and fan reception have clearly turned things around. Luckily, players have plenty to sink their teeth into, with multiple endings and plenty of collectibles and secrets to uncover. While most of this can be done in just one playthrough, players may want to consider starting a New Game + Save to see absolutely everything.
The unique New Game+ feature is one of the best parts of the Silent Hill 2 RemakeBecause it doesn’t function quite like other games. Players might be a little surprised by it, but it all makes sense once it’s broken down And is actually more rewarding than most New Game Plus modes. Fortunately, it doesn’t take too much to unlock, but the payoff is absolutely worth it.
How to start a new game plus
NG+ is quite simple in Silent Hill 2
Players will unlock the New Game+ option after beating the game And unlocking any of Remake of Silent Hill 2 Multiple ends. Once they have, players will need to go back to the main menu and select the new game option. From there, they can choose which game mode they want to start, with the Default and New Game+ options.
Selecting New Game+ will inform fans that they will unlock access to “additional items, graphic modes and endings,” which are not available in the default playthrough. Once players have chosen the New Game+ option, they can switch between the unlocked graphics modes. It is a fairly simple system that is not too convoluted to understand, but what carries over is a bit more complicated.
What carries over into Silent Hill 2 Remake’s NG+?
It is much less than you might think
Absolutely Nothing carries over into Silent Hill 2 Remake’s New Game + Mode. This means that all progress, collectibles, weapons, and more will be lost once players initiate an NG+ save, and they’ll have to find it all over again. However, while players will start completely from scratch in a new game plus save – including finding all the memos, glimpses of the past and funny photos again – there are some new features that are exclusive to NG+. For example, a new game + save is the only way to unlock Remake of Silent Hill 2 Chainsaw, because it is an exclusive item.

Additionally, there are completely new endings in the NG+ save that are not accessible in the default playthrough. So, fans who want to see everything that Silent Hill 2 Remake Has to offer will want to play through the game all over again. Remake of Silent Hill 2 Approaching a New Game Plus mode may be novel, but it’s actually better in many ways, as it offers brand new content that’s worth replaying the game.
