Signs Ikechi Ojoré Is on the Show for the Wrong Reasons (His Red Flags Revealed)

Married at first sight Season 18 cast member Ikechi Ojoré has several red flags that have been revealed that demonstrate that he is on the show for the wrong reasons. Married at first sight Season 18 premiered in early October 2024, and three episodes have been released so far. In season 18, five couples got married: Ikechi and Emem Obat, Thomas and Camille, Juan and Karla J, David and Michelle Tomblin, and Allen Slovick and Madison Myers. This season is already going better than season 17, which saw the MAFS the franchise’s first runaway bride and subsequent rematch. Additionally, none of the Season 17 couples were successful.

While there’s still a lot of season and promise left in Season 18, there are already some warning signs that the couples’ results might not be good. Even though the season 18 cast was touted as “mature” According to production, there will be a cheating scandal this season and also the first couple exchange. Right now, there’s only speculation and supposed spoilers about who the cheater is and which couples switch, but Ikechi is at the top of the list for having anything to do with any of the sketchy scenarios.

Ikechi signed up for MAFS before

Is he after a TV opportunity?

Ikechi knows the cast and the casting process well. Married at first sight. The Houston, Texas native originally requested MAFS season 13which took place in Houston in 2020. Ikechi went so far as to meet the experts, but ended up not being chosen for the show, although it’s unclear why. The college counselor, now 41, landed a job opportunity in Chicago, Illinois, where MAFS season 18 is happening, and he took advantage.

Now this MAFS is in Chicago, Ikechi applied once again for the show, and this time he was successful in the experts’ evaluation and the experts found him a match. While Ikechi’s second Married at first sight raid can be seen as a positive thing because it seems like something he really wants, there is another side to this. Ikechi could have followed the MAFS circuit and signed up for the show again because he is interested in appearing on TV.

Furthermore, Ikechi’s relationship history is suspicious. When Emem sat down with Ikechi’s friends at the wedding, they told her more about their past.

One of his godfathers revealed, “He was really in love with a young girl and she broke his heart, you know, cheated on him. He carried that for a long time. It shaped his decision-making in relationships.”

His godfather went on to say that that bad experience left him completely vulnerable for a long time. MAFS viewers heard more about Ikechi’s past when Ikechi was talking to Emem’s cousin Rafiu. Ikechi detailed that his last serious relationship was twelve years ago and that he was engaged to that person in his early twenties. Since then, Ikechi didn’t have a relationship that lasted six or seven months. However, he said he wanted children.

Ikechi’s lack of a serious and committed dating history is a red flag. This, coupled with the fact that this is his second attempt at appearing on TV and getting his name out there, makes it seem like he’s not ready for the experience.

Although he presents himself well, his dating red flags and other ulterior motives do not bode well for a successful outcome between him and Emem, and he may not be after marriage but a platform.

Ikechi published letters to his wife

What Emem thought was cute

Ikechi and his friends and family warned Emem of this he was praying for a wife every day. Furthermore, LifeIkechi announced to Emem that he was the author of a book in which he published letters to his future wife.

Ikechi may be on the show to promote his book and future work as an author.

Ikechi’s book, To my future #wcw: Letters to my best friend and future Everythingwas released in 2018. He even went on a book tour. Still, Emem found Ekechi’s letters and prayers kind, and she was visibly faint during the wedding moments.

Ikechi is not authentic

Ikechi doesn’t seem to like Emem

Responsible Winner80 on Reddit delved into Ikechi’s book thread and what it could mean for his motivations in being on the show. “He seems so hypocritical to me,” one Redditor commented.

“Hahahahaha this is a clout chaser if I ever saw one,” wrote another.

Did anyone else guess, “It makes sense now why he didn’t give her the letters.” It seems that Ikechi appears inauthentic to viewers. Additionally, in a separate Reddit thread by u/BadExpert7454many commentators felt that Ikechi did not like Emem during their marriage, and that this would not be a good outcome for a successful outcome.

“He’s hard to read because he’s full of it. I may be incorrect, but to me it seems like he presents himself as who he thinks people want him to be rather than just being himself,” one viewer wrote.

Another person wrote, “I don’t like him so far, he seems very arrogant and arrogant and just gives off idiotic vibes..” Ikechi will have to do a lot to gain the viewer’s favor, but for now, His red flags are preceding him on the show and in MAFS fan opinion.
