Shocking Skeleton Crew Theory Explained

A big Easter egg in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew suggests that Star Wars The most terrifying villains may be secretly resurfacing. Skeleton Crew is the newest addition to Star Wars films and TV shows, and has already proven to be a unique story in the franchise. Unlike the history of the Jedi and Sith seen in so many Star Wars stories, especially Star Wars films, Skeleton Crew focuses mainly on pirates.

However, the latest episode of the new show suggested that the Sith could have a role to play Skeleton Crew in the endand this may have important implications for the Star Wars Galaxy. Skeleton Crew takes place during the New Republic Era of Star Wars timeline, between Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. With Skeleton Crew be closer to Return of the JediThis should be a period of relative inactivity for the Sith, even if Palpatine's return is imminent. Could this key Skeleton Crew Does Easter egg mean the opposite?

The Skeleton Crew's New Planet Appears to Have a Sith History

Lanupa kept several secrets

Tak Rennod's hidden lair in Skeleton Crew episode 5

In Skeleton Crew episode 5, a new planet was added to the growing list of planets in Skeleton Crew. This new addition, Lanupa, has evidently been transformed into a spa resort, but it's clear that something much more insidious is lurking beneath the surface. SM-33 indicates that Lanupa was formerly a much more terrifying place, also called the Demon's Rest or Battleworld. Apparently, this weak point still exists, even if it is covered by a beautiful spa, as the infamous pirate, Captain Tak Rennod, has his hidden lair on the planet.

A much more subtle indication of this side of Lanupa are the runes that Jod sees carved into a wall. These runes are written in the Sith ur-Kittat language. The exact implications of these runes are currently unknown, but they strongly imply that this planet has an ancient history linked to the Sith themselves. This could mean that those on the planet are still in some way connected to the history of the Sith, perhaps even following their teachings. Given how rich and powerful many of the people in Lanupa clearly are, this could be a very serious update.

The Sith have always worked among the galaxy's movers and shakers

Darth Sidious is just one example

While it may seem shocking to see the Sith language in a place like Lanupa (at least as it is in Skeleton Crew), this isn't exactly a new revelation about the Sith. The Sith have long moved among the upper echelons of society in the Star Wars Galaxybe it the fabulously rich, as seen in Lanupa, or the highest level politicians. Node Star Wars screen, the most obvious example would be Darth Sidious/Palpatine. Even before his seizure of power in the Republic Senate, which led to him becoming Supreme Chancellor, Palpatine was a highly regarded senator.

Presumably the fact that Palpatine was from Naboo made this even easier. Naboo was known for peace as well as the arts, and was therefore an unpretentious but also lush, if not a little luxurious, planet. It's easy to imagine that Palpatine began rubbing shoulders with the galaxy's major players long before he actually began his plot to take control of the Senate.

It's easy to imagine that Palpatine began rubbing shoulders with the galaxy's major players long before he actually began his plot to take control of the Senate.

Palpatine also used his Banking Clan affiliation to aid his Sith conspiracy, which was shown most clearly in Star Wars: The Clone Warswhen Rush Clovis was unwittingly drawn into Palpatine's overarching plan. Curiously, the Banking Clan was also revealed in Lanupa in episode 5 of Skeleton Crew. Although this could be coincidence, it would be strange for Star Wars establish this connection for no reason, especially in light of the Sith runes also present.

Palpatine is also far from the first Sith to play such a role in the galaxy. In truth, The Banking Clan was also known to have connections dating back to Darth Plagueis, Palpatine's Sith master, and Darth Tenebrous, Plagueis' master in Legends. This connection to the Banking Clan was even a key aspect of the Sith's "Grand Plan," which was a centuries-long effort to destroy the Jedi and the Republic and ensure that the Sith would rule the galaxy - obviously a direct connection to the ultimate plan. from Palpatine. . Although it is not clear whether Star Wars Canon will mirror this arc, that's remarkable.

Is Skeleton Crew Setting Up a Sith Resurgence?

These runes could be a sign of much more serious things to come.

Jod Na Nawood looking at Sith Runes in Skeleton Crew

Now the question remains: what the appearance of Sith runes on Lanupa means not only for Skeleton Crew but also for the greatest Star Wars Galaxy? As mentioned, at this time, Palpatine's inevitable return was already underway, meaning the Sith Eternal were already working on Exegol. Theoretically, these runes could have some connection to the Eternal Sith and the plot to resurrect Palpatine.

Theoretically, these runes could have some connection to the Eternal Sith and the plot to resurrect Palpatine.

Given how old the planet Lanupa is, though, it seems much more likely that there is some other Sith connection going on in Lanupa. This is also the much more interesting possibility of the two options. Especially with Lanupa being a retreat for the rich and a planet so linked to the galaxy's top pirates, Captain Rennod in particular, there could be something much more insidious hiding beneath the planet's beautiful surface. In other words, this could mean a resurgence of the Sith.

This could prove particularly interesting in light of Star Wars upcoming films, including Rey's next Star Wars film, supposedly titled Star Wars: New Jedi Orderand the mysterious by Simon Kinberg Star Wars trilogy. Yes, the sequel trilogy has already seen the resurgence of the Sith in a sense, but it's not like Palpatine was adhering to the Two-Sith Rule at that point. Furthermore, although they adopted a master-apprentice dynamic, Snoke and Kylo Ren were not actually Sith.

Perhaps Lanupa is the key to another Sith plot, which Skeleton Crew could reveal or lay the groundwork for. Of course, at this stage, this is entirely speculative. However, it is clear that there is some Sith connection to Lanupa, and this could have very interesting implications not only for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew but also for the future of Star Wars Galaxy.
