Warning: Spoilers for Venom War: Zombiotes! #3!Poison War still dominates the Marvel Universe and appears to be causing new casualties. While more than a few people have taken up the mantle of Venom, there has never been a host irradiated by gamma radiation – until now. She-Hulk is the newest addition to Venom lore as she becomes fully (and horribly) infected by the zombie virus.
As Spider-Man and Venom continue their battle in the war for the symbiote’s future, some lesser-known heroes in Spider-Man history are dealing with the ramifications of the dead coming back to life in symbiote form. Luckily, She-Hulk is there to save the day when Spider-Man can’t get in Poison War: Zombies! #3 by Cavan Scott and Juan José Ryp.
Unfortunately, she is not as fast as the webslinger and becomes infected by the virus. What happens next is a shocking image of transformation as Jen becomes a Zombified Venom that will have fans wondering if She-Hulk will ever be the same again.
She-Hulk Transforms When Poison-Like “Zombies” Take Over the Marvel Universe
She-Hulks gets a taste of poison
Zombies are exactly what they sound like: the dead who have been reanimated by undead symbiotes. Similar to all zombie virus ideas in popular media, this version is genuinely horrifying, as fans get the chance to see a living person taken over by a Venom-like substance, turning them into “zombiotes.” It’s almost as if Marvel combined an alien invasion with a zombie virus, and now fans know it not even She-Hulk is capable of stopping such a threat.
These zombies are definitely some of the most powerful versions of Venom, considering they don’t need permission to bond with a host.
Thanks to Black Widow and Agent Anti-Venom trying to uncover the secrets of Alchemax Tower, zombies were accidentally released into the world, leaving heroes like She-Hulk to retreat to the No Name Bar, where she was seen to be infected at the last moment. These zombies are definitely some of the most powerful versions of Venom, considering they don’t need permission to bond with a host – they completely take over.
She-Hulk and Venom would be the most powerful pair to grace Marvel Comics
Marvel Teases a New Venom Showrunner With Jennifer Walters
Fortunately, She-Hulk and her hero friends find a way to increase sonic frequencies to eradicate the zombie virus inside the bar and save her own body. But this leaves fans wondering what it would be like to see a version of the Hulk hook up with a version of Venom. What this would produce could be the most powerful combination of beings in Marvel history. Since Marvel is releasing a new gold Venom, There’s definitely room for a green poison – a Hulk poison.
At this time, there are no plans to further unite She-Hulk and Venom. Fans will have to be satisfied with this little glimpse of green and black and the nightmare it causes when Jennifer Walters almost becomes undead. It’s a potent image that delivers what wasn’t possible before and is sorely needed now: She-Hulk Venom. Until this “team” becomes permanent, the undead nightmare will remain with fans.
