On North Brother Island, near New York City, a small colony of vampires, now immune to sunlight, live peacefully. Outside of a diet significantly richer in red meat, their community appears the same as humans. However, by the time the Avengers responded, the colony had already turned into a bloodbath. The Nightstalkers may not be vampires, but each of them possesses a savage vampiric instinct, armed with fangs and claws. In the confusion of chaos, She-Hulk crosses paths with Bloodscream, a man who was once cursed by a healer, transforming into an immortal monster.
Bloodscream doesn’t necessarily need blood to survive, but rather a person’s life force. When Bloodscream touches a person’s skin, he absorbs their energy, turning his victims into mummies. The vampire targets She-Hulk, curious to “drink” her gamma blood. She-Hulk throws a solid punch, but then stops to let the vampiric impersonator do his best. Bloodscream wraps his elongated jaw around her head, attempting to pierce She-Hulk’s skin with his fangs. Instead of, its fangs completely fail to make a scratchwhile Jen smiles.
She-Hulk proves how tough all Hulks are in her battle against vampires
Marvel has enough monsters and Hulks to deal with
Granted, Nightstalkers aren’t traditional vampires, but they have many of the same properties. It’s safe to assume that Bloodscream’s fangs are as sharp as any other vampire’s, if not sharper, thanks to his shape-shifting abilities. Fortunately, this immunity probably came in handy during the Blood Hunt. So far, no Hulk from Earth-616 has contracted vampirism. Although fans don’t see a vampire She-Hulk Soon, Marvel’s other heroes will be glad they don’t have to deal with an even stronger Hulk.
Avengers montage #3 is now available from Marvel Comics.
