One of the first of the new weapons you’ll likely encounter is the Va’run QuickstrikeA laser pistol. This small but effective weapon fires quick blasts of energy at targets, dealing decent damage every time a particle beam shot hits an enemy. Everything about this weapon is relatively average, from its damage, its range, and how many rounds of ammo can fit in the pistol’s magazine.

Every weapon, including the new Va’ruun weapons in Shattered SpaceCan be customized by mods. Weapon mods in Starfield Can vastly improve a weapon, giving it more damage under certain conditions to enhance the weak traits of the tool. The Va’ruun Quickstrike has an above-average number of mod slots you can use to change the weapon to suit your combat playstyle.
While the Va’ruun Quickstrike may be the weakest new weapon in the DLC, don’t underestimate how reliable it can be in fights. The pistol is accurate, with a scope you can use to make your shots more precise when targeting an enemy. A few headshots from this pistol can help you out in a pinch when you don’t have time to reload your primary weapon during an intense firefight.

The Varun Longfang is a bulky weapon that acts like an automatic rifle or SMG you can find in other places around Starfields vast galaxy. However, this weapon stands out in the Shattered Space DLC due to his particle beam shots dealing energy damage rather than physical. This can target the weaknesses of some hostile life forms you may encounter, including enemy humans like the ever-present spacers.
When using a rapid-fire weapon like the Va’ruun Longfang, make sure you have some grenades to help clear areas, as laser rifles tend to struggle if you’re overwhelmed by larger groups of enemies.
Although technically considered a laser rifle, the Va’ruun Longfang is more accurate than some of its counterparts in the category. Although it does not have a scope like the Quickshot, it has a much longer range and a higher rate of fire. This allows you to do more damage over a shorter period of time, as the weapon’s slightly larger magazine prevents you from reloading as often as other tools.

Although these Shattered Space DLC weapons are mostly energy damage based, the Va’ruun Penumbra is a rare case where physical damage is also caused. This heavy weapon acts like a grenade launcher, firing a single orb of energy that explodes when it contacts something. The AoE damage caused by its projectile burst can affect multiple targets, making the weapon great for crowd control.
With a decent range, you might think that this weapon underperforms due to its small magazine and low rate of fire. While both of these traits are true, they can easily be enhanced with weapon mods with many slots available for the Va’ruun Penumbra. As you can see in the above video by YouTube creator LunarGamingEach orb fired from this weapon has a wide horizontal range, making it difficult for you to miss shots.

As you fight tougher and tougher enemies Starfields first DLC, weapons like these Voron Starslash become more valuable due to their raw power. While not sporting a large magazine like the Longfang, the Starslash fires single, concentrated particle beam shots that deal much more damage. A critical hit headshot can significantly damage even a boss’ health bar, making this weapon perfect against high-profile targets.
The Starslash is classified as another laser rifle and can be considered one of the best laser weapons in Starfield as a whole. The zoom-in scope you can use makes the weapon scarily accurate, even in the most chaotic battlefields of House Va’ruun’s homeworld. A thin yellow line from the gun’s barrel can help you aim and light up dark spaces you may find yourself in during your adventures.
The Va’ruun Starslash has the best unique variants of the weapon you can find in the Shattered Space DLC, as you can see in the video below by YouTube creator NorZZa.
Arguably the strongest individual weapon in Shattered Space is an epic variant of the Va’ruun starslash called speaker judgement. This weapon has several unique traits, including the ability to deal extra damage against aliens and freeze your enemies. Try to pick up this incredible weapon and enhance it with the right perks to become an unstoppable force throughout the DLC.

The only new melee weapon in the Shattered Space DLC is the Va’ruun SchimazA scimitar-like blade designed to decimate your enemies at close quarters. Like other melee weapons in StarfieldThe Schimaz does not rely on ammo to function. You can simply swing the weapon all you want to deal damage, but you sacrifice any long-range abilities that come normally from using a gun.
Related
The damage of the Schimaz is quite incredible compared to many of the other melee tools you can get in the base game. With the right perks and build for your character, you can deal intense amounts of damage to enemies with this blade without much effort. As long as you have other items to help you survive during battle, this weapon can be great for chopping bosses or other elite enemies in a fight.
The Schimaz feels like a natural evolution of the Va’ruun Painblade from the base game, which has similar stats. However, the Schimaz has more reach and better damage, making it the better choice for those trying to create a strong melee-focused build. You’ll want to prioritize your character’s speed and defense qualities to support this playstyle if you choose to use this weapon often.

The strongest weapon in the Shattered Space DLC is the Cast StarstormWhich stands out as the tool with the best base shape. While other weapons like the Starslash have better variants, the Starstorm is immediately powerful from the moment you find it. This heavy weapon in Starfield Acts like a Gatling gun, firing a barrage of particle beams extremely quickly to shred through enemy health bars.
Although a single shot from the Starstorm only does a little physical and energy damage, you can land multiple shots in less than a second. This builds up the weapon’s firepower, allowing it to snowball both damage types over a short period of time. Since the Starstorm does physical and energy damage, it does not matter if an enemy has resistance to one or the other as it is felt through relentless attacks.
With six mod slots, you can adjust the weapon’s limited range and accuracy to make it even deadlier than normal. That said, you may want to focus on a build that specializes in wielding heavy weapons first to maximize the effectiveness of this firearm. The Starstorm’s heavy load prevents lighter character builds from wheeling it well, so you may have to change some of your traits.

Thankfully, you won’t have to reload this weapon often due to its large magazine size, but the high rate of fire will make this less noticeable. When using one of the best weapons in Starfields Shattered Space DLC, try to aim for a high priority target and keep firing until it’s dead or you have to reload.
