Why Milchick Parties Are So Good

An interesting detail included in the Termination The season 2 trailer is the return of Milchick and his strange parties. In Separation, Milchick is characterized as an enforcer. Throughout Season 1, he arrives at the office on Lumon’s behalf to keep an eye on Mark and his co-workers. What’s really special about Milchick is that he’s gleefully sinister. Although he always has a smile on his face, his actions are often threatening. This will apparently happen once again in Termination Season 2, when Milchick arrives with a bunch of balloons with Mark’s face on them.

Milchick is definitely an intimidating character for Mark, Helly, Irving, and Dylan, but he’s an incredible source of entertainment for Separation spectators. For example, in season 1, Milchick rewards Helly and her co-workers with a musical dance experience in order to smooth out the changing dynamics of your office. Helly chooses a maraca and the genre of “Defiant Jazz,” and the cast is forced to dance as a strangely unsettling reward. The scene is uncomfortable and therefore absolutely incredible to watch. Hopefully season two can live up to that energy.

Milchick satirizes real office culture

Milchick’s strange parties and prizes in Termination serve two purposes. The first is to intimidate Mark and his colleagues in a way that is not explicitly threatening. but it has connotations that let workers know they are being watched. This encapsulates Lumon’s comprehensive environment. This is a company that doesn’t let its employees know anything and uses corporate politeness to hide its dangerous behavior. Milchick epitomizes this idea.

However, Milchick’s parties are also a perfect satire of real office culture. Offices often offer amenities to their employees, such as pool tables and catering, to boost morale. However, these rewards can sometimes have a bitter taste, as they can distract employees from the fact that their company is overburdening them. In this way, Milchick in Termination is an exaggerated example of how corporate culture and capitalism use good things to hide their mistakes.
