The Pokemon Company International has revealed a variant of the 2024 Worlds Pikachu promotional card for the Pokemon trading card gameGive some who missed it the first time around a new chance to get it. The original version is available in August As a gift-with-purchase at select retailers, as well as at the Pokemon Center online, though it’s currently sold out.
The new card is an almost exact reproduction of the 2024 Worlds promo card, showing Pikachu and Miu in the heat of battle against a Honolulu-inspired backdrop. Players participating in gym stores in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines can get this week’s card starting September 16 (via Pokebeach). Unfortunately for those who missed out on the Worlds card, the new promo card will not feature the iconic Worlds logo.
The new 2024 Pokemon Worlds card was revealed in July this year, and since the World Championships are held in Honolulu, Hawaii, the background of a bright blue sea is suitable, however, the new edition of the card did not impress everyone. Commenters on the Pokebeach website have questioned why the card needs to exist at allwith user Nirvana 21 Write: “I think if you have a world promo you might as well get the one with the logo” User Big thoughts echoes a similar sentiment, asking: “Don’t know what that is, but sure lol.”
The original Worlds card is now hard to buy
The original version of the 2024 Worlds Card was grabs in August via the Pokemon Center website, or with purchase at Gamestop. Those who made it into the top 100 in this year’s Worlds Fantasy Team contest in the Pokemon TCG Or Pokemon The VGC category also received the card. The Pokemon Center The website is currently out of stock of the card, as is likely the case with individual Gamestop stores. This may be the driving reason why the new version is released, but if so, limiting the availability to Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines does not make it easier to obtain the card for the majority of players.

These promotional cards are some of the most sought after because they contain unique art styles and very few of them are on the market for long. As such, some collectors will likely want to get their hands on not only the original Worlds 2024 card, but also the new stamp-free version. While the latter won’t be for everyone, it’s yet another promo card to collect in the journey of creating the ultimate Pokemon TCG Collection.
