Ring of Power Season 2’s fate, Mirdania, is more tragic than Celebrimbor’s for one important reason.

Mirdania (Amelia Kenworthy) was one of the elven smiths of Gwaith-y-Mirdain and protégé of Celebrimbor (Charles Edwards), her fate was sealed. Rings of Power even more tragic than that of her mentor. Mirdania, like the elves of Eregion (and much of Middle-earth), was manipulated by Sauron (Charlie Vickers) into helping create the Rings of Power before meeting her demise at his hand. Celebrimbor was also deceived by Sauron and suffered the same fate, but there was one major difference between their deaths.

Mirdania Rings of Power the character predicts almost verbatim what is going to happen to Celebrimbor. Celebrimbor often imitates her actions in the next scene or episode.creating symmetry between characters. Mirdania and Celebrimbor offered Sauron refuge, although they were told to do otherwise. They also both help him create men’s rings. While initially helping Sauron, they saw who he truly was, but were further manipulated into not seeing his actual corrupted state while continuing their work. And in the end they were both killed by the hand of Sauron. However, despite these similarities, the demise of Mirdania is even more devastating than that of Celebrimbor.

Mirdania and Celebrimbor end tragically because of Sauron (but Mirdania has it worse)

Mirdania and Celebrimbor were killed by Sauron, but Mirdania’s reaction to his influence was much worse. Mirdania believed that she was thrown over the city walls by a corrupted version of her friend. and Lord Celebrimbor. She was blinded by Sauron’s deception until her demise, even after seeing his true form and learning of his identity. Mirdania never resisted the illusions created by Sauron, and ultimately fulfilled her final role for her, causing others to mistrust Celebrimbor. Mirdania helped Sauron to the end, even despite her own death.

Although Celebrimbor’s actions and death mirrored Mirdania’s, he came to the very difficult realization that the Dark Lord was influencing and manipulating him into seeing a world contrary to reality. Celebrimbor, realizing that Sauron had made him a pawn, moved against Sauron.hoping to prevent the spread of his influence. He also comes to determine his true allies, something Mirdania was unable to do by entrusting Galadriel (Marfydd Clark) with the Nine. Celebrimbor died after seeing the world as it truly was, and resisted Sauron with his death.

The end of Celebrimbor’s Ring of Power Season 2 allows it to exit on a high note

Celebrimbor understood his role in the destruction of Ost-in-Edil and the creation of the Nine. Although this realization led to a heartbreaking end for the elven smith and lord, he heroically accepted the truth. In Tolkien’s lore, Celebrimbor reveals the location of the Nine under Sauron’s torture, as shown in Unfinished Tales. Rings of Power takes a different approach, allowing him to maintain a strong resistance against Sauron without ever revealing their location. Celebrimbor, despite all his mistakes, died a winner.

Celebrimbor met the same end, but deviated from the tainted conclusion of Mirdania, overcoming his fears and illusions of grandeur…

Mirdania died under the impression that she was resisting the darkness, but she ultimately remained one of Sauron’s puppets to the end. Celebrimbor met the same end, but moved away from Mirdania’s tainted conclusion by overcoming his fears and illusions of grandeur, thus redeeming his character. Rings of Power transformed Celebrimbor into a complex man who, despite his many flaws, began to see clearly and act nobly, showing that his fate was less tragic than that of Myrdania.
