Ridley Scott has announced that he is working on a new Foreigner film, and may finally fix the franchise’s canon by answering the unanswered questions of Prometheus and Alien: Alliance. Scott is unfinished Foreigner the prequel trilogy left a lot of lingering mysteries. Why did David kill all the engineers? When did David kill Shaw? What are David’s plans for facehugger embryos? It always seemed like there was at least one more movie needed to connect David creating an army of xenomorphs, the Weyland-Yutani, assigning Ash to bring a xenomorph back to Earth at the expense of his crewmates.
While Alien: Romulus acknowledged the canonical changes from the prequels, including Prometheus‘ black goo and making the Offspring look like a mutant Engineer, that didn’t really answer any of the prequels’ questions. 20th Century Studios is developing a direct sequel to Alien: Romulus which will continue the story of Rain and Andy, but Scott is simultaneously developing his own new Foreigner film separate from that. After Romulo provoked the mysteries of Prometheus and CovenantScott’s film can address these mysteries head-on and finally clear up the confusion they’ve caused.

Scott Can Bring Back David and His Unanswered Questions
After the box office disappointment of Alien: Alliancethe third and final chapter of Scott’s book Foreigner the prequel trilogy was cancelled. While it was exciting that the series continued with Alien: Romuluswhich proved to be a return to form, The fact that Scott’s prequel story remained incomplete – just when it was getting exciting – was a huge disappointment. Now, Scott will finally have the chance to end this story with a new Foreigner film. Scott’s Third Foreigner prequel could be the perfect middle ground between the contemplative sci-fi of Prometheus and the intense horror of the haunted house Covenant.
The new Scott Foreigner film may show what David was planning to do with Daniels, Tennessee, and the facehugger Embyros. It seems likely that he was planning to put hugs on them and give birth to some xenomorphs, but what then? Perhaps he was planning to perform more experiments on the xenomorphs themselves to see what motivates them and try to replicate their perfect biology. He was probably planning the same experiments that failed on the Renaissance station and gave Rain and Andy the worst day of their lives. Romulo. Now, Scott can finally make it happen.
How Ridley Scott’s New Alien Movie Connects to Other Future Alien Projects
Scott’s film could be tied to Alien: Earth Or The New Alien vs. Predator Movie
Scott hasn’t revealed any details about his new Foreigner filmbut it is possible that it could connect to other future projects in the Foreigner universe. While Alien: Romulus was director Fede Álvarez’s idea, Scott was heavily involved in the next Alien: Earth series for FX. Alien: Earth takes place three decades before the events of the original Foreigner film, at the same time as Prometheus and Alien: Alliance. The new Scott Foreigner the film could be a sequel of sorts to the long-awaited TV seriesbringing together characters from both stories.
20th Century Studios president Steve Asbell recently teased a new Alien vs. Predator crossover film that would be nothing like the previous one AvP films. Asbell promised that any future AvP the film would not be a standalone, non-canon entry, but would instead connect to existing characters and stories. Alien: Alliance left David preparing to experiment on the survivors and a pair of facehugger eggs. Maybe his experiments can take him to the planet of the Predators and he will bring them to the official world. Foreigner mythology. This is just one of many possibilities for where David’s story could go.
Alien Canon Really Needs Repair After the Last Three Films Destroyed It
The alien canon hasn’t been consistent for some time
THE Foreigner The franchise’s canon has never been 100% consistentbut since then Prometheus came along with his xenomorph origin story, it really went off the rails. The xenomorph itself has evolved from a single, naturally formed entity with a short lifespan, to a huge, thriving colony with familial love and a long lifespan, to a genetically engineered, laboratory-grown monstrosity. THE Foreigner the franchise has changed what the alien is from film to film. Alien: Romulus tries to bring together all these different ideas, but the mythology is still a mess.

Prometheus‘Engineers relied on Foreigner“Space Jockey” character, but they look totally different. The Network was changed from a collection of isolated beacons to a universal communication route. Prometheus apparently introduced faster-than-light travel, which was not possible in Foreigner. Ridley Scott’s new film Foreigner the film really needs to clean up the canon.
