Bob Odenkirk returns as Hutch Mansell in a bloody first look at Nobody 2
. Odenkirk made his action hero debut in 2021 Nobodywhich follows Hutch, a seemingly ordinary family man, as skills from his past as a government assassin resurface after a home invasion. The film was a success and Nobody 2 was confirmed, with Timo Tjahjanto (The night comes for us) set to direct. Empire now releases the first image of the Nobody 2showing Odenkirk’s Hutch covered in blood and pointing a gun at an off-screen attacker. Now that he’s back in full swing, how does his family react to this beast? You’ll see a lot of questions that fathers and husbands ask: ‘How do they react to this other side of me that is constantly fighting and working for the family?’ It will be quite a journey. We got rid of the whole drab, dreary factory/warehouse feel of the first film and made it much more summery and colorful.

While many questions remain about Stone’s villainous character, Tjahjanto offers an enthusiastic tease about her performance, promising a bold new antagonist:

His performance reminds me a lot of Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast. She is definitely an alpha female. She doesn’t take shit from anyone. This is a unique villain and she’s driving this character completely crazy.

What Nobody 2’s Latest Update Means for the Film

The sequel could be even better than the original

Nobody is one of several action films that emerged after the success of John Wick (2014). Although not all films that attempted to replicate the success of this action film were hits, director Ilya Naishuller’s film connected with audiences and Odenkirk was considered an action star. Nobody Reviews were generally positive, and the film currently holds an 84% critic score and 94% audience score on Rotten tomatoes. It was also a box office success, grossing $57 million on a budget of $16 million.

Odenkirk, who was previously best known for playing sleazy lawyer Saul Goodman in Breaking Bad and Better call Saulwas one of the main reasons for the first film’s success, and the latest image suggests that Nobody 2 I won’t forget that. Tjahjanto’s previous films include The night comes for us (2018) and The strays from the shadows (2024)both not only very bloody and violent, but also well received by critics. With the sequence set to combine elements that made the original work some interesting new ingredients, Nobody 2 could be an even bigger success.

Our opinion on the new revelations of Nobody 2

Hutch’s Family Life Could Elevate the Sequel

Bob Odenkirk as Hutch Mansell in Nobody

Although the most recent Nobody 2 The image arguably doesn’t convey the lighter, more colorful aesthetic that Tjahjanto describes, however, it’s a welcome confirmation that the sequel won’t tone down the bloody violence after the Nobody final sequence. The night comes for us and The strays from the shadows both feature some impressive action sequences and Tjahjanto seems like the perfect director to continue Mansell’s story.

The action will be the main reason to check Nobody 2but the sequence can be even more elevated if it features a strong emotional element. Hutch’s dynamics with his family were explored in the first film But the fact that his murderous past has been revealed could put great strain on his relationship with his wife, Becca, and two children.which might be interesting. Scheduled for release next summer, a Nobody 2 the trailer might not be too far away.
