Infinite Nikki released on December 5, 2024, and is already releasing its first major patch with version 1.1, Shooting Star Season. This new patch includes new events, new activities, and the most exciting four- and five-star banners for you to earn beautiful new outfits. Along with the announcement, some important details were released about what to expect from the update.
As with most update announcements, admittedly not everything coming in the new patch has been revealed, but what Infold has shown so far is exciting. There will be no new updates to the main story itselfbut the announcement mentioned a side story that will explore some other aspect of Wishfield through the Wish Festival.
What's new in the Shooting Star season?
New minigames, costumes, banners and more to discover
Through the announcement on the official website Infinite Nikki Account X developer Infold shared a bit about the new things the studio has been working on since Infinite Nikkilaunch. Tons of new costumes, some new minigames and activities, and even check-in events will be included in this update, which arrives on December 30, 2024.
In addition to the December 30 release date, no official date has been released for any of the new activities in 1.1, but some other details have been clarified. The program "Let's touch the shooting stars!" The minigame appears to host challenges similar to the Whimstar kingdoms that already exist in the game, offering new challenges and rewards. Additionally, new world and random quests will be released.
There are no confirmed details on what these missions will entail, but it's likely that they will all fall under the growing astrological theme that categorizes the update. In the ad, they fall under the title "Adventure Under the Stars", which supports this assumption. Hopefully, players will be able to engage a little more deeply with the starry theme, perhaps through a telescope or star map.
New Events in Infinity Nikki's Shooting Stars Season
Four events are coming
According to the X announcement, it appears there will be four new events during the 1.1 update period. They will probably last less than a week each, like Companion Day, and will provide smaller rewards such as diamonds, camera upgrade packs, and so on. Often, check-in events last a little longer than rewards, allowing a grace period for players who might miss a day or two.
The first of the four events is a Check-In Event, called "Starwish Gifts." Check-in events are nikki franchise classics, and often reward things like rare materials or everyday pieces of clothing the player checks in for a specific period of time. It looks like this event will reward materials rather than clothing. The second event is a fishing event, titled "Lucky Fishing Day." Based on the image accompanying the announcement, this event will focus on the Pink Ribbon Eel, which can be exchanged for Diamonds if players pick one up.
The third is another check-in event titled "Lucky gifts." The event has been included in the "Upcoming Content" section, so it's likely to be further away from the 1.1 release in December, but it's still something to look forward to in the coming weeks. As a check-in event, players can collect materials and other rewards by checking in every day.
The fourth and final event announced is the season's title event, the Wish Festival. This event begins right with the patch release and includes the activities and missions mentioned above, as well as some exclusive gameplay and game challenges. Get ready to craft gifts for NPCs, complete photography investigations, and explore the new Wish Nebula.
New Outfits in Infinity Nikki's Shooting Star Season
Added skill and banner costumes
There are two new skill outfits in Shooting Star Season, and each perfectly exemplifies the starry, wish-focused season. The first is a Gliding outfit titled “Wings of Wishes”. It's a beautiful dress accented with a paper crane motif, representing the wishes of the people of Florawish and beyond in celebration of the Wish Festival.
The second outfit, "Whimsical Reverie", is a transparent blue skill outfit with the Extravagance skill. When using the "Praying Hands"Pose in the camera, shooting stars will streak across the sky behind the player. Both outfits will be obtainable through the limited-time resonance banner, Celestial Wishes.
In addition to the new Skill Outfits, there are some new three and four star outfits coming to the Celestial Wishes banner as well. All these clothes have an elegant and charming touch. They include four-star "Gleaming Dance," three-star "Star of the Gala" and three-star "Snowy Encounter."
Finally, Interlude chapter "Call of Beginnings" will feature a 5-star mystery outfit to be unlocked in the Heart of Infinity. This is where Wishful Aurosa was unlocked in the first section of the game, so there is a possibility that there will be a new chance to find another Miracle Outfit. Not much has been revealed about what exactly this interlude chapter entails, but the image combined with the announcement's title featured the same woman in chains from the game's prologue, so Nikki may end up hearing from her again.
Shooting Star Season Release Date and Platforms
This update will arrive soon
The official release date of Infinite Nikki version 1.1 "Shooting Star Season" is December 29, 12:49:59 (UTC-7) or 07:49:59 EST. It will run until the same time on January 23rd, so it's a very quick event. It's unlikely that everything in the announcement will occur during this three-week period, so don't panic that you won't be able to get everything done.
The release will take place on all platforms that currently support the game: PC, PS5 and cell phone. Unfortunately, Infinite Nikki It's not yet available on Switch or Xbox, but we expect that to change in the coming months. No matter the platform, players will need to download the patch before they can load it into the game once it is released.
What's next for Infinity Nikki
The time between events indicates a fast pace for Infold
Gacha games thrive on constant revenue and players' fear of losing, so it's logical that their limited-time events are quick. This motivates players to spend a little money to get the set they want before it runs out, especially for nikki players. The franchise is notorious for not reviving clothing sets or banners, so players who know this will have even more urgency to get everything they're looking for before it's gone forever.
If this is the pace that Infold intends to maintain during Infinite Nikkiupdates may arrive once a month. It was only a few weeks between the game's initial release and its first minor event, and now a major patch is arriving not even a month later. It remains to be seen whether this pace will be maintained or whether Infold is riding the wave of the game's initial success, but either way, each new item and event released seems to excite players more.
