The Hallmark Channel original series The way home is an interesting departure from the network’s usual fare and was recently picked up for a third season. Starring the award-winning Andie MacDowell, the series is about three generations of women from the Landry family who live together in a small Canadian town. Outside of the usual domestic conflicts found in any family, the Landrys are also time travelers who exist at different points in history across the lake they own. Taking a page from programs like Outlander, The way home introduced unconventional elements without sacrificing its welcoming atmosphere.

With the shocking conclusion of Season 2 still pending during the show’s off-season, the latest news finally confirms the release date of The way home season 3. Coming sooner rather than later, the time travel drama is scheduled to arrive on Hallmark+ starting Thursday, January 2, 2025 (through Deadline). The show won’t premiere on the Hallmark Channel until fall 2025, but a firmer TV release date won’t be announced for some time.

The cast also added some new features, with Julia Tomasone (Ghostwriter) set to play the teenage version of Del. Meanwhile, Jordan Doww (Ganymede) will appear as the teenage version of Colton, while Devin Cecchetto (The Parker Andersons) comes in as the teenage version of Evelyn. It’s unclear how these new cast members will influence the ongoing story, but the show utilizes a lot of time travel, which means they could take center stage. The way home season 3.

With Hallmark eager to maintain momentum on its popular time-travel family drama, the network not only quickly renewed The way homebut it also accelerated production on the third season. As such, The way home season 3 is set to premiere on Hallmark+ in Thursday, January 2, 2025. This will be the show’s exclusive streaming debut, but the network has plans to eventually air The way home Season 3 on Hallmark Channel during Fall 2025but a concrete release date won’t be announced for some time.

In the same way that the second season began, showrunner Alexandra Clarke revealed that the third season of The way home will start with a time jump. The series typically ends on a cliffhanger and then moves forward to catch up with viewers, and there’s a lot to catch up on after Season 2’s shocking ending. Perhaps the most pressing issue after season 2 was the revelation that Colton is also a time travelerand that opens up an ocean of possibilities for the third season.
