Reacher Season 3's New Villain Is Exactly the Kind of Bad Guy the Prime Video Show Needs After Season 2

With Reach Season 3's villain now revealed, it's becoming very clear what the series has been missing all this time. Although all the bandits in Reach So far they have brought something new to the tableAlan Ritchson's titular protagonist faces a brilliant new challenge as Amazon moves forward to adapt another Lee Child film. Jack Reacher books. From what was shown in the teaser trailer, it looks like audiences are ready to watch a whole new kind of fight for Reachmain character.

As with the previous two executions, Ritchson is one of the only returning actors after the end Reach Season 2, with Maria Sten's Frances Neagley being the other character to return for another round. Paulie, from Reacher season 3, is the physical threat that Alan Ritchson's character has yet to face

Olivier Richters' Reacher character will be a big challenge

Reach seasons 1 and 2 were adapted Floor of Death and Bad luck and trouble respectively. While there have been great live-action versions of the stories, the villains have largely been string pullers rather than physically imposing presences. For example, all four Reach season two's villains certainly acted nefariously, but none of them lasted long in a face-to-face confrontation with Ritchson's burly physique and military training. Happily, Reach season 3's antagonist changes all that, as Olivier Richters as Paulie makes Ritchson look tiny by comparison.

The teaser recently released by Amazon proves that Reacher won't be able to defeat his new enemy with brute force. This is usually how he takes down the bad guys, so the reveal is both worrying and exciting. Paulie presents a whole new challenge for the show's hero, so even with Neagley in his ear, it's still unclear how Reacher will emerge victorious. Presumably, Paulie will meet his end in a gruesome way, just like many of his predecessors.

Reacher being isolated in season three makes Paulie an even more terrifying villain

Amazon's Persuader adaptation will force Reacher to adapt

Reach the first season saw Ritchson's character team up with Roscoe Conklin (Willa Fitzgerald) and Oscar Finlay (Malcolm Goodwin), and Reach season 2 saw the reunion of the 110th Special Investigations Unit. Then, Reacher was never without direct assistance and support. However, Persuaderwhich will form the basis Reach season three has the franchise's main character going undercover, so if he's discovered, he'll be alone.

Being deployed behind enemy lines puts Reacher at much more risk than he has already experienced, and the scenario is made even more dangerous by the fact that he has no friends with him and a terrible villain is looming over him. Of course, it seems very unlikely that Ritchson's character will emerge as anything other than the winner of the Reach season 3's inevitable final fight scene, but that doesn't mean it won't be a thrilling adventure.
