Reach the third season needs to bring back appearances by creator Lee Child to celebrate a franchise milestone. The trailer for Reach season three teases the upcoming showdown between the title character (played by Alan Ritchson) and his latest nemesis Paulie (Olivier Richters), a burly bodyguard. The third season adapts PersuaderLee Child's seventh novel Jack Reacher series of soap operas. To celebrate the franchise's enduring success, Child really needs to revive its cameo tradition in season 3.
Reaching 30 novels is no easy task for any series – much less for one that has been producing bestsellers for decades. An appearance from Child would be a fun way to mark this occasion, and it could even get meta by having him in the background of a scene reading one of his own novels; the name “Jack Reacher” should not appear on the cover.
