Reach Season 2 featured characters from the 110th Special Investigations Unit, and one of them needs to appear more in Season 3 than Roscoe. With the RangeWith a cast led by Alan Ritchson, the series became one of Amazon’s best shows and received positive reviews from both critics and audiences due to its engaging plot and great characters. Although Roscoe was a fan favoritethere is another character whose presence in Reach the third season is even more important than hers.
Reach is an anthology seriesso each season features a new storyline and supporting cast. While some members of the ensemble likely won’t appear again in future seasons of the series, the Amazon Original project leaves room for the third season to have returning characters. Admittedly, having characters reprise their roles from the series presents a narrative challenge due to the nature of the series. It is still essential that people who were important to the growth of the title character are part of the Reach season 3 cast, specifically a member of the 110th.
David O’Donnell was a highlight of Reacher season 2 (and season 3 needs him)
O’Donnell and Reacher had a great dynamic
David O’Donnell was one of the beloved new characters in Reach season 2. His sense of humor, simplistic attitude, and buddy-cop dynamic with Reacher were refreshing. In some ways, O’Donnell is also the most personable character on the series. He has a wife and a family that he loves and cares for. Like many people at Lee Child’s Jack Reacher books, O’Donnell does not appear in any of the novels after Reacher moves on to a new investigation.
However, this does not mean that he should not be in Reach Season 3, as the show made several changes to the original material. His dynamic with Reacher and analytical mind in Season 2 elevated the show and would likely do the same in Season 3. Although the fact that Reacher being a wanderer makes him an intriguing characterThere will come a time when he will have to settle down and O’Donnell shows him that it is possible to have roots in one place and still be happy.
How Reacher Season 2 Finale Sets Up O’Donnell’s Return
Reacher is likely to call on O’Donnell in Reacher season 3
Node Reach Ending season 2, Richtson’s hero promised Neagley that he would keep in touch with his family, thus setting up O’Donnell’s possible return in future seasons of the series. If O’Donnell appeared in Reach In the third season, it is likely that he will not be involved in dangerous missions because of the responsibility he has towards his family. Instead of having a major role like he did in season 2, O’Donnell could be involved in Reacher’s next case in the same way that Finlay did in season two.
While O’Donnell’s carefree personality would be a perfect match for Reacher’s stoic nature, he will likely only have a cameo if he appears in Reacher season 3.
Since Reacher told Neagley he wouldn’t stay distant, he can call O’Donnell for help when he needs it. This way, his former companion and friend could help Reacher without putting himself in danger. While O’Donnell’s carefree personality would be a perfect match for Reacher’s stoic nature, he will likely only have a cameo if he is to appear in Reach Season 3, just like Finlay did in Season 2. Still, this is much better than never seeing him again.
Produced by Amazon Prime Video, Reacher adapts Lee Child’s Jack Reacher book series into live action. The series follows veteran military police officer Jack Reacher as he uncovers a dangerous conspiracy in the fictional town of Margrave, Georgia. Played by the imposing Alan Ritchson, the titular hero collaborates with Officer Roscoe Conklin (Willa Fitzgerald) and Chief Detective Oscar Finlay (Malcolm Goodwin) to clear his name and save Margrave from crime and corruption.
