Rainwater's Odd Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 13 Line Could Mean the End of Dutton Ranch

Notice! SPOILERS ahead for yellow stone Season 5, Episode 13, “Give The World Away.”

A seemingly out of place conversation between Rainwater and Mo in yellow stone Season 5 Episode 13, “Give The World Away,” could foreshadow how the neo-Western will close out what could be its final season. “Give The World Away” focused primarily on Beth's attempt to sell most of the Dutton farm's cattle to pay off part of the farm's mortgage after confirming that yellow stoneJohn Dutton is dead. However, it also includes a conversation between Mo and Rainwater that doesn't feel connected to the rest of the story.

While most Yellow Stone'and the cast is involved in the Dutton ranch auction and John's funeral, yellow stone Episode 13 of Season 5 has a scene where Mo and Rainwater discuss a proposed gas pipeline that would run through the reservation. Rainwater notes that the indigenous population has “was at war for 160 years. This seemingly out-of-place moment offers a new conflict for indigenous peoples, but does nothing to end yellow stone season 5, part 2. However, it may be more significant than it seems.

The Yellowstone Pipeline Conflict Explained (and How It's Similar to the Dutton Ranch Problem)

The pipeline would further disrupt the life of reserves

The rainwater problem is with a proposed gas pipeline that would pass through the reserve. Although the land is supposed to belong to indigenous people, this pipeline would be commissioned by city authorities and placed under the reservation without permission from tribal leaders. Therefore, Rainwater is determined to prevent the construction of the pipeline. To that end, he tells Mo that the pipeline cannot be built “if they don't have any pipes.

This conflict is parallel to the conflict over the farm. Before John Dutton's death, he and Beth were working together to stop developers from building an airport near the ranch and purchasing most of the Dutton property to build a ski resort. However, Jamie has been working with the developers since John's death to undo the steps he took to protect the property. That's why, Beth and Kayce could lose their farm to developers, just as indigenous people could lose the right to decide what happens to their land if the pipeline project goes ahead.

How the Pipeline Crisis Could Result in Dutton Ranch's Final Fate

Kayce and Rainwater could work together to solve both problems

These similar crises give Kayce the opportunity to work with Rainwater to resolve both issues. Kayce could use his influence with Rainwater to strike a deal in which he would turn over the farm to Rainwater and then buy it back from him in exchange for ensuring that the pipeline project was canceled and that indigenous lands were protected from future development of this nature. . Kayce alludes to such an agreement during the end of yellow stone Season 5, Episode 13, although he keeps the details to himself.

This seemingly irrelevant conflict may play an important role in yellow stonethe final closure.

Rainwater could also obtain other concessions from Kayce, such as following some indigenous customs related to respecting the sacredness of the land. However, the gas pipeline is of primary importance, as its existence would compress the indigenous population onto an even smaller parcel of land and interfere with their right to make decisions about the land themselves. Thus, this seemingly irrelevant conflict can play a large role in yellow stone'it is the final closure.
