WARNING: SPOILERS ahead for the Season 1 finale of Dune: Prophecy.
Following the events of the Dune: Prophecy At the end of Season 1, there are several key elements that are already set to be expanded upon in Season 2. Dune: Prophecy is a six-part series based on the 2012 novel Dune Brotherhoodwhich was written by the original Dune son of author Frank Herbert, Brian, and Kevin J. Anderson. The story takes place more than 10,000 years before the rise of Paul Atreidies, narrated in the book by Denis Villenueve. Dune (2020) and Dune: Part Two (2024). Dune: Prophecy reveals the origins of the powerful shadow brotherhood known as the Bene Gesserit and how they manipulated the destiny of humanity.
Dune: Prophecy episode 1 "The Hidden Hand" introduced Valya Harkonnen, a fierce and calculated leader, and her biological sister, Tula Harkonnen. Dune: Prophecy episode 2 reveals what happened to Lila and her grandmother, Reverend Mother Dorotea, after Tula and Valya encouraged her to endure the Agony. In Dune: Prophecy episode 3, Tula takes Lila's life into her own hands after she apparently died during the Agony ritual and attempts to resurrect her through the use of forbidden technology. Episode 4 reveals that Lila was resurrected through the Thinking Machine, Anirul. Episode 5 shows Desmond Hart's rise to power, while episode 6 shows Tula reconnecting with her abandoned half-Atreides son, Desmond Hart.

Valya, Ynez and Keiran seek refuge on Arrakis
Valya will probably try to find the virus creator here
At the end of Dune: Prophecy In the Season 1 finale, Valya Harkonnen, Princess Ynez Corrino, and master swordsman Keiran Atreides escape the heated pursuit of Desmond Hart and his Sardaukar soldiers. The unlikely trio arrive on Arrakis, where they will likely continue to be at the beginning of Dune: Prophecy 2nd season. Valya is still interested in making Princess Ynez the next Empress and is tasked with acting as her personal protector and Revealer of Truth, rather than treating her like any other acolyte of the Brotherhood.
Valya tells Ynez when they arrive on Arrakis, "The path to our enemy begins here." After Valya's vision of Desmond being operated on by Thinking Machines, which is how he acquired a mechanical virus that gives him magical powers, she is determined to find out who is behind it. His vision shows a bright, burning sun behind a shadowy figure overseeing the operation, which suggests that the creator of the virus is also on Arrakis. Valya will also plan how to put Ynez back on the throne and will likely enlist the help of her sister Mikaela.

Tula and Theo are held prisoner by the Empire
Desmond will have to decide what to do with them
Very similar Dune: Prophecy Season 1 Desmond Hart will likely remain Season 2's biggest question mark. After appearing to recognize Tula Harkonnen as his mother and discovering that Theo is a shape-shifting face dancer, he arrests them both. Both should be kept "in suspension" since he and Keiran were in season 1.
Tula will likely explain why she abandoned Desmond when he was just a boy and how it was part of Valya's master plan. Theo will likely remain loyal to Valya and the Brotherhood unless she discovers the truth about Valya killing Dorotea, which could sever her bond with Valya. Desmond and Tula have a good chance of agreeing and even working together to end Valya's reign over the Brotherhood.

The death of Emperor Javicco opens the imperial throne
Desmond will likely serve as acting emperor alongside Natalya
Emperor Javicco's shocking death was part of Valya's plan, although she didn't know exactly how it would happen. She enlisted Francesca to eliminate Javicco, but likely anticipated she wouldn't be able to do so. As "fate" would have it, Javicco turned his own blade against himself after discovering that he never really knew a true day of freedom.
Even more shocking was Empress Natalya killing Sister Francesca out of her own revenge for the Sisterhood she shares with Desmond Hart. Natalya and Desmond will likely represent the Imperial Throne together in early Dune: Prophecy Season 2, although Demsond may not want to take on full responsibility for the Emperor, or perhaps not have the chance to do so. This would open doors for Ynez – and her love interest Keiran Atreides – or even Constantine to claim the imperial throne.
7
Desmond Hart is implanted with thinking machine technology
Desmond may not even know the strength of his own power
Because the Thinking Machines implanted a fear-based virus into Desmond Hart's eyes, this makes him a sort of false idol with very deadly power. As seen throughout Dune: Prophecy season 1, Desmond appears to be in complete control of the virus and who it affects. He initially kills Pruwett Richese and sister Kasha simultaneously using the virus, triggering the reaction by pressing on their right temple.
It's unclear whether Desmond is doing this of his own free will. or whether the Thinking Machines programmed him to become the face of The Reckoning, essentially playing out an apocalyptic scenario for potential underlying gain. Valya believes that whoever gave her the virus is using it as a weapon and must be stopped. Desmond will likely harness the power for his own ends or succumb to it by those who programmed him in season two.

Lila/Dorotea resumes leadership of the Brotherhood
She will probably turn the Brotherhood against Valya
With Valya and Tula out of the picture at the end of Dune: Prophecy In the first season, the Brotherhood appears to have regained its rightful leader in Dorotea, who emerged through her granddaughter Lila. Node Dune: Prophecy end of season 1, Dorotea reveals the truth about Valya to the Sisterhood and quickly establishes her own following. Lila can also take advantage of the presence of the original Mother Superior, Raquella, meaning that Valya may have a very difficult time regaining power over the Brotherhood. Dorotea and the Brotherhood also discover the forbidden Thinking Machine technology that Valya and Tula have been hiding as a breeding index.

The creator of the thinking machine virus remains unknown
Valya will be determined to expose the other “hidden hand” in season 2
Valya's greatest ambition in Season 2 of Dune: Prophecy - beyond those already established in Season 1 - will be to discover and eliminate the creator of the fear-borne virus within Desmond's eyes. Since she will not kill Desmond because he is Tula's long-lost sonshe will have to return to the origin of the virus, which she plans to find on Arrakis. Even Valya has no idea who or what she's facing at the end of the first season. It's also likely that whoever "hidden hand" implanted the virus also programmed Desmond to believe he had been swallowed by Shai-Hulud.
4
Empress Natalya will try to weaken the brotherhood
Francesca may just be the first death at her hands
Natalya reveals her true face to Desmond Hart at the end of Dune: Prophecy episode 5. She is willing to do whatever it takes to take down the Brotherhood one by one, an intention she shares with Desmond. Now that she officially has blood on her hands after killing Sister Francesca, she will probably make it even harder for the Brotherhood to set foot in Salusa Secundus unless she plans to secretly lure them in and eliminate them. The key to Natalya's reign will largely depend on Desmond, who would be a formidable asset to her on the Imperial Throne. He could, however, change his mind after finding out that his mother is Tula.
3
Harrow recorded evidence of Valya and Francesca's plan
He will probably hand you over to a high-ranking imperial position
Lurking in the shadows of Dune: Prophecy The Season 1 finale is Harrow Harkonnen, Valya's ambitious nephew, who now has his own trick up his sleeve ahead of Season 2. Harrow received a piece of Thinking Machines technology – a glowing orb – that acts as a hidden recording device. It is revealed in Dune: Prophecy ending that Harrow secretly used the orb to record Valya's conversation with Francesca and Theo about her plan to kill Emperor Corrino. Seeking his own glory and knowing firsthand the dangers of Valya, Harrow will likely take this evidence to Empress Natalya and Desmondwhich would certainly make Valya an intergalactic enemy of the Empire.
2
Constantine could be a wildcard after his parents' death
He could completely change after the shocking twist
Prince Constantine Corrino doesn't have a big role in the Dune: Prophecy end of season 1 and has yet to establish himself as a true player in this game of power and deceit. With Francesca's help based on Valya's plan, Constantine was appointed to oversee spice production on Arrakiswhich means he's more than likely to show up on the planet Dune and reunite with his sister there.
Finding Out Where Constantine's Loyalty Lies in Season 2 It will be interesting to see how it unfolds. He has denounced Keiran for being an insurgent and may be proud of his new imperial position, which could turn him completely against Ynez. Then again, his parents are dead and he will certainly be looking for answers and someone to blame.

Valya's Anriul breeding index can be destroyed
Lila/Dorotea killed it, but that could also have eliminated her
With Valya's Thinking Machine creation rate now exposed, he could be overthrown by Dorotea and the revolting Brotherhood. The end of season 1 shows Lila/Dorotea destroying the Anirul Thinking Machinewhich is followed by the sound of the machine turning off. This would imply that Dorotea successfully destroyed Valya's reproductive rate, which would cause enormous problems for her view of the Brotherhood and the "hidden hand" in the selection of royal bloodlines. If Lila destroyed Anirul at the end of Dune: Prophecy In the first season, however, this could mean she also left, as she is powered by Thinking Machine technology after Tula resurrected her.
