Prime Video’s Pac-Man anthology adaptation gets wild tease on EP

Secret level executive producer and supervising director Dave Wilson teases how the series will be adapted Pac-Man. The Prime Video show is an animated anthology series featuring 15 standalone episodes adapting well-known video game characters and brandsincluding Pac-Man and War hammer. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Keanu Reeves, Kevin Hart, Ariana Greenblatt, Temuera Morrison, Emily Swallow and Gabriel Luna are among the series’ many star-studded cast members.

When speaking with Screen speech at New York Comic Con, Wilson suggested the bold and surprising way in which Pac-Man has been adapted in one of Secret levelepisodes. He explained how Secret levelThe series’ creative approach differed greatly from a more traditional process, but this change worked well for the series’ approach. Pac-Man. Wilson also teased plenty of weirdness in the episode that was based on the inherent weirdness of the Pac-Man games. Check out Wilson’s comments below:

I mean, the traditional route is to present a script to professionals. We did about four or five rounds of pitching on Pac-Man, but there wasn’t really anything we felt was right, and we took a lot of ingredients from pitching. Tim and JT Petty, our head writer, did some work on the script. But honestly, there’s a moment when you’re reading a story and it’s like some kind of light bulb goes off and that’s it. Have you ever seen Pac-Man, it’s weird — and I think in the best possible way — but I would even say, I think if someone reads this story on the page and looks at what Victor and Alfredo, the directors of Headless, did, I don’t even think Let this script still be. Yeah, but they really gave it a life of its own. And I remember when that story reel came from them, I don’t think it’s changed at all since it came out. It was like, ‘Holy shit, this is amazing.’ It’s so strange. It felt like we were destroying people’s childhoods with that episode. All it needed was a really, really strong voice, and they killed it. So it was a process that I don’t think followed a typical path, but we knew that episode needed a strong filmmaker, and even the director’s approach was incredible for that. They referenced Mandy. Like, Mandy and Pac-Man don’t seem like a good fit as a creative touchstone, but it was awesome. It worked.

What does this mean for the secret level

The Pac-Man episode will be one of the best Secret Level stories

Although Secret level has 15 episodes with different stories, Wilson’s comments indicate that the Pac-Man The episode will be one of the best and most memorable episodes of the series. With Pac-Man First released in 1980, it helps that games have played a role in the childhoods of several generations. The long-standing and widespread familiarity with Pac-Man will facilitate investment in this particular episode and will make the episode’s creative changes more impactful.

Wilson makes a point that they are inherently strange, as they revolve around a yellow mouth eating dots and fruit inside a maze while avoiding ghosts.

As common as Pac-Man The games have been, Wilson makes sure they are inherently strange, as they revolve around a yellow mouth eating dots and fruit inside a maze while avoiding ghosts. This concept works well in games and has significant narrative potential for use in an animated anthology series. Secret levelHis opinion may be traumatizing for some childhood memories, but will embrace the weirdness of gamespotentially making the episode a great video game adaptation.

Out of everything Secret level episodes, I am now more intrigued by the Pac-Man oneand seeing how he uses popular games to tell a lively tale.
