Power Rangers would rarely make significant changes to the Super Sentai shows that he was adapting until Rescue at the speed of light broke that rule to present one of the coolest Rangers ever. Most entries in the Power Rangers universe are localized versions of Super Sentai shows, meaning they combine Japanese scenes with American footage. Ryan Mitchell was featured in Power Rangers Rescue at the speed of light episode 11, “From the Depths of the Shadows”, as Captain Mitchell’s son. After a car accident nearly claimed the lives of Captain Mitchell and his children, the Diabolical demon appeared in front of them and offered to save Ryan in exchange for raising the child himself. Given that Captain Mitchell was holding his daughter but couldn’t reach Ryan, he accepted the “deal with the devil.” Ryan was raised by Fiendish and manipulated into thinking his father had left him for dead.
Now working for the demons, Ryan stole the Titanium morpher and became the Titanium Ranger. Similar to the original Green Ranger and most of the franchise’s extra Rangers, the Titanium Ranger was introduced as an enemy but ended up joining the heroes. GoGoVthe Sit down show what Rescue at the speed of light was based, there was no traditional sixth Ranger. That’s why Rescue at the speed of light decided to create an original character who would serve as the season’s extra Ranger. The Titanium Ranger’s design was created from scratch, but matched the costumes of the other five heroes.

The Titanium Ranger had a cool costume and a dark story
Ryan Mitchell checked all the boxes for what a cool sixth or extra Ranger should have – an interesting backstory that differed, a unique costume that stood out from the rest of the team, and the ability to steal the show every time he was in one episode. Given that there were no Japanese images of the Titanium Ranger there were so many ways for Ryan to appear Rescue at the speed of light. The show often had to come up with excuses to explain why Ryan wasn’t around, from a mystical virus to a mission in the middle of the desert.
As a result, Ryan only appeared in 14 of the series’ 40 episodes. Still, the Titanium Ranger was an incredible addition to the Lightspeed team. Not to mention the costume, which continues to be one of the best Power Rangers suits of all times. Although it was an original Power Rangers Costume, the Titanium Ranger’s costume was created by PLEX, a company that had previously worked on franchises such as Kamen Rider and Super Sentai. Between his dark origin story and his incredible costume, the Titanium Ranger became an instant fan favorite.
