The new Pokémon TCG Pocket The app has many unique features, including Wonder Picks, which allow players to benefit from other players’ rare card purchases. Wonder Picks offer players an additional opportunity to try to get cards from their wish list, with slightly better odds than just opening booster packs.
While Wonder Picks aren’t guaranteed, just like the boosters themselves, it’s worth taking the time to look into them. Additionally, how do you receive an in-game currency exclusive to Wonder Picksthere is no reason not to utilize this feature, especially since there is no trading in Pokémon TCG Pocket yet.
What are wonderful choices?
A unique way to get that special card
When you open the Pokémon TCG Pocket app, you will see several options on its main dashboard. In addition to the large boosters displayed in the center of the screen, you will also see guides for the in-game store and Wonder Pick. If you open Wonder Pick you will see different groupings of cards under player nameseach with a little countdown next to them. These are wonderful choices.
Each is a collection of Pokémon cards drawn by players from whom you now have the option of drawing a single card, with the advantage of knowing all the potential options first. Each Wonder Pick has a specific deadline that you can see at the top of the screenat which time they will be updated and new ones will appear. However, they don’t disappear forever, as there is a way to bring back an expired Wonder Pick that you may have lost.
How to use the Wonder Pick feature
Select a batch of cards and test your luck
The process for using the Wonder Pick feature is quite simple. Once you find a set of cards that you like, simply click on it, confirm your selection and the five cards from that set will be shuffled and laid out again, face down. At this point, you have one chance to select a card that you can keep. Unfortunately, the shuffles are completely random, so there’s no way to try and game the system with Wonder Picks.
After making about 20 Wonder Picks, I confirmed this by discovering that the most desirable card in the group appeared in every positionsometimes even in the same position in which it started. You might even find that the card you want is in the same position for several different Wonder Picks in a row. There’s no way to know, so just pick one and hope that luck is on your side.
Once you select a card, it will be added to your collection and the Wonder Pick you just participated in will be marked as closed. From there you can participate in another one if you want but remember that when fully recharged you only have five Wonder Stamina. This means that once you spend all five, you will have to wait until they recover before you can make more Wonder Picks.
How to recover Wonder Pick stamina
Buy wonderful hourglasses and complete challenges
While you technically don’t need to do anything to recover your Wonder Stamina because it will be done automatically, it takes 12 hours to recharge one. This means that to recharge all five Wonder Stamina icons, you will have to wait almost two and a half days. Since most of you are probably like me in that the idea of waiting so long seems distressing, you’ll be happy to know that there is a way to regain Wonder Stamina immediately using Wonder Hourglasses.
Wonder Hourglasses restores a single hour of Wonder Stamina recoveryso to restore a full Wonder Stamina icon, you would need 12 Wonder Hourglasses. It seems like a lot, but I managed to accumulate over 100 of them in the first 24 hours of playing Pokémon TCG PocketSo it’s not as bad as it seems. You have a few methods to collect them, the first being the simplest: you buy them from the in-game store.
THE Pokémon TCG Pocket store contains a section dedicated to hourglasses where you can exchange two Shop Tickets for a single Wonder Hourglass or exchange 12 Shop Tickets for six Wonder Hourglasses. Both have a limit of 10 uses each, after which you will have to wait until the store updates before you can use them again. It has not yet been confirmed how long this will be, but there is speculation that it could be a monthly update.
The other method of obtaining Wonder Hourglasses includes completing quests. Currently, the premium pass for Pokémon TCG Pocket features several missions that reward a handful of Wonder Hourglasses and there will likely be more as new missions become available throughout the game, so be sure to regularly check the rewards for all available missions.
How to Get the Best Cards and Pull Rates
Prioritize wonderful choices with rare cards
If you want to make the most of your Wonder Pick, try to prioritize the best cards from each pack, as shown in Spragels Pocketfrom the YouTube video above. The purpose of a Wonder Pick is to have the opportunity to consciously draw a card that you yourself were unable to draw.. Given the time it takes to recover Wonder Stamina, you don’t want to waste it on a bunch of common cards, so keep an eye out for cards with full art, ex-cards, or Pokémon TCG PocketRare Crown Cards.
Unfortunately, the rarer the cards, the more expensive the Wonder Pick will bebut in some ways, this can help indicate which Wonder Picks are probably worth your time. Anything that costs a single Wonder Stamina probably just consists of common cards that you’re likely to pull from Booster Packs.
Remember this you can also earn Rewind Watches through quests or by leveling upwhich allows you to restore an expired Wonder Pick. So if nothing available seems appealing, you can also look into expired options if you have some Rewind watches lying around. However, since Rewind Watches are rarer to find than Wonder Hourglasses, I recommend saving them until there’s a card you simply can’t live without.
Lastly, many Pokémon card collectors, myself included, enjoy collecting cards in other languages. Although it’s not immediately obvious, there is a way to do this in Pokémon TCG Pocket via Wonder Picks. To do this, simply select the three lines in the bottom right corner of the application and then enter the settings by selecting “Others” and then “Settings”. From here you will be able to scroll down and find the language option to change to your desired language.
Please note that this will change the language of the entire application, but it is very easy to navigate because of the layout and icons. Give the app some time to fully update and then you can open Wonder Picks and see cards in other languages. Once you switch back to your native language, your cards will remain in the language they were in when you collected them, allowing you to add foreign cards to your Pokémon TCG Pocket collection.
