Pokemon Horizons Reveals a Terrifying New Power-Up That’s Basically Like Doping for Pokemon

Warning: Spoilers for Pokemon Horizons, Episode 64Pokemon Horizons has just revealed a terrifying new way of enhancing Pokemon’s power to the max, and it sheds light on the villains’ motivations. Not surprisingly, the Explorer’s Spinel was the first to use this mysterious substance, causing his Pokemon to become much stronger and extraordinarily faster than it was before.

In a very recent episode of Pokemon HorizonsIt was revealed that Spinel managed to steal a small sample of a substance known as lacvium, implicating Friede in the process. This substance, tied to the mythical paradise land of Laqua, represented a major step forward for the explorers’ goals, although exactly what it does or why they wanted it remained a mystery. It seems to have some connection to keeping the explorers’ boss, Gibeon, alive, but that’s not all the mystery substance can do.

The lacvium is activated by spinel.

In the last episode, Spinel used the pattern he stole to create a pink mist, which he then exposed his Umbreon to, which was a snarling, powerful beast.

The Explorer’s new power-up represents a dangerous threat

The lacvium could make the Explorer unstoppable

The Lacvium not only made Umbreon much more aggressive, it increased his speed to insane levels, making Umbreon almost impossible to track while moving. It struck with an extreme degree of power, knocking out Amethio’s Seruledge in a single hit, even though it was terstalized at the time. Liko and Floragato would likely have been the next target, but Terapagos reacted to the sight of the substance being used this way with intense fury, transforming into his terrestrial form and destroying the small piece of lacvium that fueled Umbreon’s power. Enhancement to wear off.

The enhancement of Umbreon’s power is completely unnatural, similar to some of Team Rocket’s more diabolical plans to increase the abilities of Pokemon. Umbreon didn’t seem to be in his right mind while affected by the Lakvium, though it still followed the trainer’s orders, unlike many other forms of Berserk Pokemon. Fortunately, Umbreon was only affected by the substance for a short time, and it’s not yet clear what effects long-term exposure could have on a Pokemon. After the effect wore off, Spinel and his Umbreon retreated, leading Amethio and Lyco on a chase.

What connection does Terrapagos have to the Lakevium?

Terapagos power is “opposite” of Lakvium

Terapagos reacts negatively to the use of Lacvium.

It was already speculated in a previous episode that the lakevium was related to Terapagos somehow, as Terapagos generates a similar pink mist when it shows visions of the past to Lyco. Ms. Raifort of Naranja Academy said that Laqua was supposed to have a pink glow to it, further tying the substance to the mysterious land. It seems that the liquid causes some pain for those who have been affected, maybe even extending their lives, as in Gebeon. Spinel speculated that due to its ability to cancel out the lacvium effect, Terapagos was the opposite of the substance.

Lacvium’s dangerous effects certainly go a long way to explaining why Pokemon HorizonsVillains want to reach Laqua, as with this kind of power, they can easily conquer the world.
