A new leak about Pokémon HOME provides an intriguing tease about the future of the Pokémon franchise, specifically after the release of the Nintendo Switch 2. The Pokémon franchise is in an interesting position right now, with the release of Pokemon Legends ZA planned for sometime in 2025. Although a new Pokémon Legends The game is exciting, fans are also wondering how the franchise will adapt to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and how long until the franchise releases a new generation of main series games.
Recently a new leak appeared on Famiboards about the Nintendo Switch 2 and Pokémon HOME that also works as a taunt about a nearby Pokémon game. The post, shared by TheIndigoBoy1213 on Reddit, states that the next version of Pokémon HOME will appear on Nintendo Switch 2 and feature Bianca of Pokémon Black and White in place of Grand Oak.
Bianca will not only help the characters in this new version of Pokémon HOMEbut it will also serve as new tease about the next Pokémon Black and Pokémon White remakes. The timing of the new leak is interesting, as Khu Riddle (an infamous Pokémon leaker) also suggested a new version of Pokémon HOME was coming in an X post, while a separate leak suggested a Nintendo Switch 2 release schedule similar to the Famiboards leak.
What will be the next Pokémon games after Pokémon Legends ZA?
Rumors persist that Pokémon Black & White remakes are on the cards
It is widely believed that Game Freak will release a new pair of main series Pokémon games after release Pokemon Legends ZA. A 2026 version would make sense, given that The year marks the 30th anniversary of Pokémon franchise. Additionally, Game Freak released a new generation of Pokémon games every three years, so 2026 would actually mark the biggest gap between Pokémon generations since the difference between Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and Pokémon Black and White.
However, there are also good reasons to believe that the Pokémon franchise is preparing to return to the Unova region. With Pokémon Black and White next in line for remakes, any clue that could tease its return is especially tempting. Pokémon Scarlet and VioletThe DLC was technically set in the Unova region and feature-rich callbacks to these games.
Furthermore, the Pokémon TCG is also scheduled to release a new set of cards in 2025 called “Black Bolt” and “White Flare,” which are an obvious reference to Pokémon Black and White. A reference from Bianca in Pokémon HOME or its successor would open up even more speculation about more games in the Unova region.
Our Take: Rumors Will Persist, But Be Careful What You Wish For
Unova remakes would be cool, but new Unova stories would be even better
The release of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl should have effectively put the brakes on any desire to remake Pokémon games. These games were weak copies of the originals, lacking significant innovations or updates. Effectively, they were a reminder that Pokémon remakes shouldn’t exist simply to revisit old ones Pokémon games.
While it’s nice to want to return to the Unova region, it would be much more interesting to see a new game set in that region that introduces new stories to Unova. Regardless, if Pokémon HOME is bringing Bianca as a new featured character, expect more rumors to persist about the Unova remakes until something finally happens.
