In January 2025, Pokemon GO will introduce a new set of raid bosses. You can expect to see some strong Pokémon in difficult 5-Star Raids. Like most five-star raids, the next few raids will be incredibly challenging. This is an excellent month for those who want to catch rare and shiny Pokémon in Pokemon GO.
In addition to the strong 5-star raids, there will also be many Mega raid bosses. The cool thing is that you can face off against well-known Kanto Pokémon like Machop, Gastly, Krabby, and Squirtle during Max Raids. With this variety of raid battles, planning ahead and deciding which Pokémon you want catching is a good idea. The December Raid lineup was great and it looks like January will continue to be good.
All 5-Star Raid Bosses in January 2025
Who do you fight in five-star raids
In January 2025, there will be a variety of tough opponents in Five-Star Raids across Pokemon GO. Trainers will be able to battle Pokémon like Palkia, both forms of Deoxys (Attack and Defense), and Dialga. Additionally, coaches can face Shadow Registeel during the weekend raid events throughout the month. So make sure you're ready for whoever you want to face.
Below is a table with the dates, Pokémon and their weaknesses. Remember that December's Giratina (Changed) raid will continue until January 4, 2025.

As you can see, the attacks start January 4, 2025, and will end in February. This will likely be when a new raid schedule begins, so you won't have to worry about a lack of content. Plus, every Pokémon has a chance to be shiny, which is great for all trainers involved.
Mega Raid bosses in January 2025
Who do you face in Mega Raids?
Throughout January 2025, there will be three Mega Raid Bosses for you to face Pokemon GO. The first is Mega Lopunnyfollowed by Mega Gallade and then Mega Medicham. Some months have more to face, but fewer Pokémon means more opportunities to face them. Each of them will have a chance to be brilliant, so you might get really lucky.
The table below shows the Pokémon, dates, and Pokémon's weaknesses. Remember that December's Mega Abomasnow attack will continue until January 4, 2025.

Although Mega Lopunny doesn't have many weaknesses, the only weak point is fighting, which isn't hard to find in Pokemon GO. THE two others have flying as their main weaknesswhich is also easier to find. This should be a much easier month to carry out attacks.
Even though they don't look like much, Mega Raid Bosses are some of the hardest enemies to deal with. Pokemon GO. Some players like to face them alone because it's cool, but it's not the easiest. Instead, join a group of other players and fight them yourself. My first victory in the mega raid had 20 players together and I was the weakest, but a group of six or more it should be good.

It seems Pokemon GO it keeps moving from the Kanto region to the Galar region, but it seems like that's how things are going now. You are going see many Pokémon from the Kanto region coming this month, but that could change as more Pokémon are revealed as the month goes on.

These attacks will begin on January 3, 2025 and end in February. There are already many of them announced, then you will have a lot to dothanks to a new year of battles. Pay attention to weaknesses to change your team to better combat each Pokémon.
Keep in mind that some Pokémon are revealed for a limited time as the month goes on. Therefore, there may be chances of getting other Pokémon that have not been announced. This has happened before during attacks in October 2024 and will likely happen in January. However, it's always better to be prepared, even if that doesn't happen.
Shadow Raid Bosses for January 2025
A rarely used Shadow Boss
In January, you'll be able to fight Shadow Registeel in special attacks on weekends. This Legendary Shadow Pokémon will only be available during these events, so get ready if you want a chance to catch it. Also, remember that you cannot use remote attack passes for these shadow attacks. While it doesn't seem like much, it's a great thing to do if you're tired of the attacks mentioned above.
Make sure you get a bunch of Purified Gems if you want to participate in Shadow Raids. These gems are important for calming the angry Shadow Pokémon you will face. You can create purified gems by combining four shadow shards, which you get by defeating Team GO Rocket grunts and Shadow Raid bosses.
Shadow Registeel is a powerful Steel-type Pokémon. His enhanced Shadow form makes him powerful, but he still has weaknesses. Registeel's weaknesses stem from its Steel typing because it is highly susceptible to Fire, fight and soiltype attacks. A strike team focused on these types would be smart. Despite its high defense, exploiting these weaknesses will help you lower its health. Remember that Shadow Pokémon's defense decreases as its attack increases. Such powerful moves of this type will quickly deplete your health bar in Pokemon GO.
