Despite being teased in the variant cover art, Ivy’s latest costume made its official narrative debut in Poison Ivy/Swamp Thing: Feral Trees #1, by G. Willow Wilson, Mike Perkins and Mike Spicer, due October 30, 2024. The timing of this release is perfect, as its horror-themed narrative arrives just in time for Halloween Eve.
The story follows Swamp Thing and Ivy, who are mysteriously “called” to a forest on the outskirts of Gotham, only to find themselves entangled in a deadly mystery involving trees that are attacking and killing people. This chilling tale sets the stage for Ivy to embrace a dark interpretation of her classic. Batman: The Animated Series fantasy.

Poison Ivy’s look Batman: The Animated Series incorporates the show’s simplistic yet iconic art style, featuring the Gotham Siren in a green corset, sheer green tights, and a pair of elbow-length gloves and matching knee-high boots. Despite its basic design, this outfit remains one of Ivy’s most beloved and recognizable looks. So it’s absolutely fantastic to see the core elements of this design modernized with a horror-inspired twist in one of DC’s latest Poison Ivy stories. How does she BtAS look, the Feral Trees The costume features sheer leggings, a plush bodysuit, gloves and boots.
The similarities with the BtAS the design creates a clear homage to the TV series; however, it remains unclear whether this was an intentional choice by artist Mike Perkins. The new design diverges from the BtAS style in some waysincorporating notable changes that give it a contemporary touch. For example, Ivy wears a high-neck version of the teddy bear instead of the low-cut bodice, while Feral Trees replaces gloves with leg warmers and upgrades knee-high boots to thigh-high boots.
