Despite many doubts about the star's ability to appear in The Mandalorian and Grogu due to a busy schedule, Pedro Pascal is in fact confirmed for the set of Star Wars next film. Pascal's schedule has been a topic of contention for years, following the actor's launch into stardom following the premiere of The Mandalorian in 2019. Although he has managed to complete a voice acting role since 2021 The Book of Boba FettMany expected him to put on Mando's costume again, and it looks like that's exactly what's going to happen after all.
In an Instagram story shared by Din Djarin's stunt double Lateef Crowder (through Mandoverse Updates), Crowder documents his trip to the set of The Mandalorian and Groguwhere he writes at the bottom, “Stretch well daddy!” before tagging Pascal's Instagram. Crowder shares many of these daily stories as a way to connect with fans, though this one certainly promises something even more. This humorous message to Pascal not only confirms the actor's presence on set, but also hints at what could be in store for Pascal's role in the upcoming film.
What Pedro Pascal's presence on set means for Star Wars
There are good things ahead for this film
This is absolutely incredible news, especially for those who feared that Pascal's busy schedule would take him away from filming the Marvel movie. The Fantastic Four: Getting Started would prevent him from entering Mando's beskar armor at any point in the film. Pascal has not played a major role in the process since then The Mandalorian Season 2, and audiences are eager to see him – whether his face is shown or not. This exchange alone promises that Pascal will have more of a role in the film than in recent seasonswhich is absolutely essential to the success of this film.
We're one step closer to seeing Din Djarin's face again
For the first time in almost 6 years
Of course, the main thought that goes through most viewers' minds after hearing this news is that the chances of seeing Din Djarin's face again have skyrocketed. The character hasn't removed his helmet since. The Mandalorian season 2 finale, which, when the film is released, will mark almost 6 years between these instances. Given how physically expressive the actor Pascal is, your face was sorely missed The Mandalorian fans, especially without this being seen in season 3. His mere presence on set seems to suggest that a new helmetless scene is on the horizon.
Not only that, but Crowder's words also seem to tease something else about Pascal's appearance. Given Crowder's role as a stuntman, it makes sense that he would tease Pascal about stretching, but that would only really be necessary if Pascal was doing his own stunts in the suit. This means that, for the first time, Star Wars may be showing Din Djarin without his helmet during a fight sceneor some other type of stunt scene. Clearly, Pascal will still have an important role to play The Mandalorian and Grogu – especially if it requires stretching.
The Mandalorian and Grogu hits theaters on May 22, 2026.
