Spoiler alert for Ghosts season 4, episode 3, ‘Halloween 4: The Witch’
Patience continues to control the narrative in Ghosts season 4. The ghost appeared at the end of season 3 and kidnapped Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones), who banished her to earth when an ill-timed sneeze caused him to let go of her hand as they traveled underground. Mary Holland debuted as the Puritan spirit in Ghosts season 4 premiere, determined to make Isaac repent of his sins. Isaac Higgintoot, however, was a Revolutionary War veteran in his day. He convinced Patience that they looked for her and missed her. By now, Isaac’s antics have left him on the Puritan’s good side.
Still, a lot is happening Ghosts season 4. Isaac is also dealing with the fallout from his canceled engagement. The Revolutionary War soldier was about to marry Nigel Chessum (John Hartman) in Ghosts season 3 finale before leaving his bride at the altar. Isaac is also busy consulting on Jay’s new restaurant project, which he invested in after making some money. Isaac is mainly consumed by Patience in Ghosts season 4. Managing his relationship with Patience has caused Isaac to neglect his friendship with another spirit, and that needs to change.

Isaac and Hetty are dead best friends
Isaac’s relationship with Patience keeps him busy, leaving him little time with Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky), his best friend in Ghosts. Isaac pleases Patience because he is terrified of herwhat makes up for it Ghosts Season 4, Episode 3, “Halloween 4: The Witch”, when Isaac convinces Patience to help the other ghosts after she watches TV. Still, Isaac’s involvement with Patience overshadowed his relationship with Hetty, who previously added many narrative elements to the series. The two only have a few moments together, as much of Isaac’s story deals with managing threats from the Puritan.

Furthermore, although Isaac’s bond with the Puritan is for political purposes, there is a glimmer of a true friendship growing between them. In the Halloween episode, Isaac follows Patience to the TV room while the others save Sam’s statue, and they spend quality time together. Although he uses the situation to his advantage later, Isaac seems to really enjoy telling Patience the details of the reality show they are watching. Later, a flashback of Patience dancing to a diabetes medicine commercial suggests that the two had a great time.
How Ghosts Season 4 Can Give Hetty the Attention She Deserves
Hetty can support her best friend
Isaac’s connections to the respective spirits make sense. Hetty died 120 years after Isaac in the Woodstone B&B timeline, with the soldier dying in 1777 and the baroness passing away in 1895. Yet Isaac and Patience are even closer, becoming ghosts 85 years apart from each other. Still, Isaac manages to balance his friendships. It will only take a moment between the best friends in Ghosts Season 4 to give Hetty the attention she deserves. Isaac is going through a lot of personal growth and Hetty is the perfect confidante to vent to when he has time to talk about it.
Ghosts (USA) is a comedy series centered on a young couple who inherit an old mansion only to discover that it is inhabited by eclectic spirits from different historical periods, mixing humor and history as they navigate life among the dead.
